Texas online gun superstore Cheaper Than Dirt posted on Facebook today:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately. We are reviewing our policy internally, and will continue to be the leader in the outdoor industry with our full line of gear and accessories.
They have also removed all firearms from their website.
Another business capitulates. We don't need gun grabbers when our own side will bend over and do whatever they want. I have spent thousands at CTD but will hold off on any further spending until they do the right thing. Tell them what you think on their Facebook page
The practice of arresting property was initiated by George H.W. Bush's US Attorney General, Richard Thornberg. The practice was perfected on Bill Clinton's watch by Attorney General Janet Reno who created a separate department to handle asset forfeitures. .....Under normal circumstances a person must be convicted of a crime, or at least charged with a crime, before law enforcement (with an order from a lawful court) can seize their property—particularly weapons since once they are convicted of a felony, they may no longer legally own any firearms. Under Executive Order 13603, law enforcement has the authority to seize legal firearms owned by any person who is merely suspected of substance abuse—even if that individual is never taken into custody or charged with substance [abuse].
Trust Barky to sign a new E.O. directing ATF to pick up all weapons everywhere on a list of "suspect" weapons -- a weapons dragnet conducted under admiralty law and seized under an asset forfeiture "class action" run past a roundheeled magistrate.
RE: Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately.
Apparently the suspension is temporary. Their website now says this...
“We are currently buried in orders! Please allow 5-7 business days for your order to ship. Thank you for your patience. Online firearms sales will resume once we have updated our process.”
Due to record setting demand for our products we are suspending sales until our shipping department can get caught up with current orders. We feel our obligation is to fill current orders before taking on new sales . We hope to resume ordering as soon as possible.
In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
Atlantic Firearms.com
This is what a reputable pro-2A company posts on their website. CTD and Dicks received their last dime from me.
I was nervous when AF was down that maybe they caved too, so I sent an email to them. I didn't get a response, but the above was posted the next day. It makes it easier for me to spend my money with Atlantic Firearms.
whoa- I did not know that! Thanks for posting and informing me. That is really dangerous.
