Texas online gun superstore Cheaper Than Dirt posted on Facebook today:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately. We are reviewing our policy internally, and will continue to be the leader in the outdoor industry with our full line of gear and accessories.
They have also removed all firearms from their website.
Another business capitulates. We don't need gun grabbers when our own side will bend over and do whatever they want. I have spent thousands at CTD but will hold off on any further spending until they do the right thing. Tell them what you think on their Facebook page
What the hell, CTD????
It isn’t like they send them direct to nutters. They still have to go through an FFL, still have to do the FBI check.
I purchased my last one through CTD and have bought mucho ammo and accessories from them over the years. And I nearly ordered another one from them last week.
This ends it. Now Midway, Widners, Natchez and Midsouth will get all my ammo & accessories business, and Davidsons if I ever buy another firearm.
I bought about ten Tapco AK 30 round mags from CTD for about $5.00 each a month or two ago. They sat in my cart for quite a while, I don’t think that price is available anymore. So buy their hi-cap mags, then give them the gate. I can get paracord and other camping stuff from a lot of other places that aren’t intimidated by the demo-thought police. Yeah, loyalty is great but it works both ways.
I just called them and there answer was “of course not”. That was the Hickory, NC store.
I am fully expecting Eric Holder to announce a ‘temporary’ suspension of FBI background checks at FFL dealers. Insane power grab? Well they have already unilaterally suspended ICE immigration checks for Maricopa County, Arizona and some other counties in NC and GA - a violation of the 1996 law. And they know Boehner is too weak to resist.
(PS Unfortunately while boating on the mighty Mississinewa river, my hungry, hungry bulldog and mastiff chewed them all to plastic shreds and slivers, spat them out and they were lost, sunk to the bottom, alas and alack .... )
LOL! My son works at a gun store. I should call him and see if there is anything left on the walls.
My question was answered via this post.
They pulled them all as well. CTD, Dicks, Academy and Wal-Mart so far.....
Thank you. This information helps. I’m wondering, though. Are there states which did not (prior to this incident) permit this type of transaction for firearms?
I just called Academy in Knoxville and they refused to comment.
“Dick is also suspending gun sales.”
I heard on the radio that they were doing so.
I guess they need to change their name to Dick(less) Sporting Goods.
What an awful thought and all to plausible. Next will be the call for everyone to voluntarily turn in their weapons, followed by some form of coercion like annual licensing fees, followed by confiscation, followed by...
I'm not going to defend CTD, but I suspect that this is not just simple gouging on their part. More than likely the price is due to a run on mags which is driving up the wholesale price industry wide. Just watch, every place you look that sells AK mags will be 4 or 5 times higher before the end of next week as the supply dries up.
I could see that happening. I'm kinda surprised they haven't already done it.
And they know Boehner is too weak to resist.
Resist? Sorry to be crude, but he's probably strapping on his kneepads as we speak.
I was just thinking about that. Flip of the switch and no one will sell you a gun.
30 round mags were sold out at Ruger but 20’s were available.
I don’t know about now. This story is on fire.
Exactly.
I have had them remove my email from their mailing list and sent them an email explaining why I will never purchase from them again. I don’t know about thousands but I have spent many hundreds on ammo purchases from them. Not any more.
Dick’s, CTD and Academy. Walmart caved over Rosie so bet they’ll be next.
It is still a mess for me, at least on my iPad. Looks like maybe I waited too long to get my rifle. This auction coming up in a couple weeks could be interesting.
