Should Michigan's governor sign a bill on is desk that would allow concealed weapons in former no-gun zones, like schools?
The question is timely for two reasons:
* Under legislation that passed the House and Senate in Michigan this week, gun owners with concealed weapon permits could carry a gun into schools, daycares, hospitals or public arenas if they get extra training. The bill is awaiting Gov. Rick Snyder's signature, according to MLive.
* And on Friday, a gunman opened fire in a school in Newtown, CT, killing at least 27 at an elementary school, including 18 children.

While I believe no gun control policy could stop mass shootings like this and therefore calls for more gun control in order to stop these massacres are in vain, I have to say I don’t see how the usual response from 2nd amendment activists that “if only an armed citizen could have been there to stop this” can apply here. Who is armed, the teachers? Should we have armed patrols at every school in the country?
Well interesting enough we put armed Sky Marshals on airliners and now have pilots armed on the planes. There is a difference?
you don’t seem to realize that if the perp had known that EVERY TEACHER, CUSTODIAN, COUNSELOR, ETC. was armed in that school he would not have even considered invading it???????
That guy is brain dead. His logic is a half-arsed as it gets. Oh, well! One less 0bama Zombie troll.
and if the principal had been packing and knew how to use it, there may have been a very different outcome.
See pic in post #13.
That teacher is packing some serious heat!
Yep, seems his stupidity knows no bounds!
They should make it mandatory that a percentage of the staff is trained and armed. Maybe even pay the armed ones a little bonus for pulling double duty.
Actually, I think you’re lying. I think you’ve been an indecisive mush all along, and now with a terrible incident, you’re just swaying in the wind again. Whichever way it blows.
Where did you get that picture from? It’s awesome.
Just saw it posted somewhere else where these events were under discussion. I’m sure it’s in Israel.
Here’s an article on the subject:
We need to Petition for Armed Responsible Adults in Schools, as Israel did to stop school shootings

I hadn’t seen that one before, but it has “Oleg Volk” written all over it. He’s a neat guy, has done a lot of pro-2A photography.
Dig around, you should be able to find some articles on the general subject of the Israelis arming teachers and putting armed parent volunteers as school guards to stop Muzzies from shooting up their kids.
I found a number of articles on the arming of teachers in Israel. I just could not find that particular picture you posted. In one of the article it stated how the muzzies do not target schools anymore in Israel. I guess schools in Israel are no longer considered a soft target.
I looked up Oleg Volk and you are correct. It is a Oleg Volk photo. He has a lot of neat photos.
Not all of his photos are SFW.
Yes
Should we have armed patrols at every school in the country?......
No, just the teachers who wish to be armed.
