anyone doubt Obama and the White House re giddy about this?
“This is in Connecticut”
Sad to me that we view states and their people almost exclusively through through a political lens. Once again, a bunch of Americans die at the hands of a nutcase inside a gun-free zone.
Every government school in America is a gun-free zone.
How often do mass shooting happen at private schools or homeschools?
Hovewer, it might as well be the case that he had a brain tumor like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman that had a tumor that pressed against the amygdala and caused his aggressive behavior.
I posted that fact as information, because the article did not originally note what state the event occurred in, and there are LOTS of towns named "Newtown" all over the US.
“Obama had his advance team there at 10:30am today. He must be giddy with all the carnage.”
Ghoulish is the best word I can think of. Like turkey vultures circling the dead waiting to feast.
Why? You want, you ask them.
Can’t argue with you about where we are as a society, but at the same time, I don’t believe in making it easy for a sicko to do great harm. We don’t sell RPG’s at the 7-11’s, nor do I think many people believe we should. There have to be some limits on the degree of dangerousness of weapons that we allow the general public to possess. That’s what I think the coming debate will be about.
So would you sell a fully automatic rifle to someone listed as a suspected terrorist by the FBI and CIA?
You’re the one using the straw man.
Here, hold this match.
National Firearms Act of 1934.
You should read up on it.
It’s been illegal to own “fully automatic” since then.
And the attack didn’t use “fully automatic”.
” I dont believe in making it easy for a sicko to do great harm.”
You are advocating gun bans?

We have a gun grabber here!
Juno, your level of stupid should hurt, and be self-lethal.
Connecticut law doesn’t allow 20 year old Adam Lanza to possess or own said firearms he was carting around.
The school is a gun free zone.
What more restrictions do you want?
None of the weapons he had were full auto.
Full auto has been illegal since 1934.
Your strawmen don’t hold up.
Most of the whackos who go shoot up schools are certifiable. They need to be in institutions instead of “given medications” and turned loose on society. The fact that the guns used by the murderers in these public massacres are illegal has gone right past the gun banners.
All of these people were underage, had illegal weapons, carried a grudge, were clinically insane, or all of the above.
juno, go whine somewhere else.
>>There have to be some limits on the degree of dangerousness of weapons that we allow the general public to possess. <<
There are already many, idiot. Check your facts before blathering off.
Had ONE administrator or teacher at that school been armed dozens of people would be alive today.
I would make one exception to gun laws: I would not trust anyone as dumb as YOU to have anything more powerful than a rubber band (and even then it would be the small kind, not the larger more dangerous kind).
Adam Lanza had mental problems according to reports.
Also, the guy in China who slashed 22 children to death didn’t use a gun, he used a knife.
Does juno advocate restricting knives too?
A gun free zone makes it exceedingly easy for sickos to ply their trade at schools while disarming the potential victims.
Liberals. “pagh!”
I will pour urine on their eternal reposes if I ever get the chance.
“So would you sell a fully automatic rifle to someone listed as a suspected terrorist by the FBI and CIA?”
I’ve never seen a full auto weapon for sale at any gun shop or gun show I’ve been to.
Where would you suggest a person go buy one?
I’d set the cows out to graze on that and leave behind a cow pie or two.
Plow it over and grow nightshade on the plot afterwards.

I hosed up the quote:
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither.
