WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama declared Syria's main opposition group the sole "legitimate representative" of its country's people Tuesday, deeming the move "a big step" in the international diplomatic efforts to end Syrian President Bashar Assad's embattled regime.
Obama said the newly formed Syrian Opposition Council "is now inclusive enough" to be granted the elevated status, which paves the way for the greater U.S. support for the organization.

it is a civil war in progress - both sides are proclaimed enemies of the US and Israel - one is secular, the other Islamist, and both sides hate you and me - the US should keep their hands off.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will not attend the Dec. 12 meeting of the Friends of Syria in Morocco due to a lingering stomach ailment.
Clinton was expected to make news at the event by formally recognizing the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, the new opposition leadership organization put together last month in Doha with the help of the State Department, as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people. That designation would pave the way for the U.S. to increase its aid to the Syrian opposition....
Mustafa Sabbagh, secretary general of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, said in Bahrain that he thinks the U.S. will recognize his council as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people in Morocco....

Who would have thought, that in just a little over ten years after 911, we would have a black Marxist (maybe even muslim) President named Hussein, who would be arming Al Qeda with our tax dollars all over the Middle East?

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood firmly in control. US $$ dumped to support a radical government.
Libya: Rebels given US weapons to overthrow Ghadafi. Rebels include Al Qaeda.
Iraq: US Troops pulled not for US sake, it's for terrorist attacks for government overthrow.
Syria: Obama is dumping weapons to rebels. Same as Libya.
Americans: Obama thinks they are idiots.
Well, they did let him get re-elected.
The President of the US is allied openly with Al Queda now operating in Syria with USA taxpayer funding and USA provided arms. Goal is Islamic republic for Syria. I hope Syria defeats Al Queda. They are our only hope - how about them apples?
