President Barack Obama gave Syrian President Bashar Assad a stern warning Monday after U.S. officials told CBS News the Syrian regime has shown signs that it may be making chemical weapons material. Both officials spoke on the condition of anonymity, although President Obama spoke publicly about the possibility of chemical weapons in a speech at National Defense University Monday.
President Obama said he wanted to be “absolutely clear” to Assad that “the world is watching,” CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller reports.
The use of chemical weapons is “totally unacceptable” and “if you make mistake of using—there will be consequences and you will be held accountable,” the president said. …

There isn’t a foreign leader on Planet Earth who doesn’t know by now that America’s feckless, gormless, but big-talking president is an utter wimp.
Obama has “fundamentally changed” our policy in the Middle East. Over the past, I don’t know, 100 years or so we have tacitly supported many bad folks, dictators, in the Middle East. Because they ran secular goverments. Right or wrong, I don’t know. But to have the terrorists in charge is just....either stupid, ignorant or worse part of a plan to establish a Caliphate.
In 4 short years he has undone the foreign policy of the past 100 years. I hope it all blows up before he leaves office. I hope a lot of things blow up before he serves out his term. But, probably not. He’ll be gone, living the high life and someone else will have to pick up the pieces.
So long as Assad does not convert to being a Republican - he has nothing to worry about.
