ATLANTA -- Notre Dame, the Tide rolls for thee.
Alabama rallied twice in the second half to down Georgia 32-28 in the SEC Championship game at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, all but assuredly earning a shot at the No. 1 Irish in the BCS title tilt on Jan. 7.
Down three with five and a half minutes to play, Alabama QB AJ McCarron threw a 45-yard pass to Amari Cooper for with 3:15 to play. The drive took four plays.
In what has become two teams swinging anvils at each other all afternoon, Georgia blew an 11-point lead only to restore its advantage early in the fourth quarter, leading Alabama 28-25 as the teams have three 100-yard rushers on the day between them.
The third quarter began as an utter disaster for Alabama, as Georgia seemed poised to vanquish demons after collapsing against LSU in this spot last year. It opened the second half with a 75-yard drive to a Todd Gurley 3-yard touchdown run and a 14-10 lead.
Then the Georgia special teams continued its rout in this affair, blocking an Alabama field goal attempt with Alec Ogletree returning it 55 yards for a stunning score and a 21-10 advantage midway through the third.

They do! But Ssshhhhhh! Don’t tell Alabama that. Let em think they are gonna “roll” over that measley little team from South Bend. Let em think it. SSsssshhhhh!
Yeah, because he knew the ass-whipping that was waiting for them.
GO IRISH!!
We’ll see.
I can't, either. California State University, Fullerton--from which I hold a few units--is called the Titans and its symbol is an elephant, for good reason. In 1962, the school, then known as Orange County State College, held an intercollegiate elephant race on the campus.
I remember that Sugar Bowl where Cincy played Florida, I guess in Tebow's last game. Some ridiculous score I've forgotten. And Kelly's Cincy players had several choice words for him after he bugged out to ND before that Sugar Bowl.
Well, that was predicatable. Kelley had ALWAYS made it clear AHEAD OF TIME to Cincinnati that he would leave in ND came calling . . . just as Lou Holtz had at Arkansas. They did come calling. And he was honest with his players about it. Some were bitter, but not most. They knew that he also had done great things for the Cincinnati program; but, the Administration there did not respond in kind, with financial offers or improvements (to the stadium, etc.) that he recommended. He actually is a very nice man, with a wonderful family, he he has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to cancer research. But, I wouldn’t expect you to understand that sort of thing.
“Some” of his former players did. Othere (most) had more class.
Why not? The sportswriters hate ND, and they don’t think a nonSEC team should be allowed in the championship.
Why not? The mainstream media hates Notre Dame, and they love Alabama and Florida. Welcome to Obama’s America, where it’s not about merit, it’s about elitism. Notre Dame probably isn’t even eligible to be in the championship game, because it’s Catholic, and the Obamacare decision.
Get ready to duck, Irish!

LOL . . . I heard there is a team somewhere called the “Poets.” :-)
Oh, I thought red tide was some sort of disease that washes up on the beach with plankton.
Between Alabama and Notre Dame, we have the two college football teams that have benefitted the most from blatantly favorable officiating over the last 50 years, week in and week out.
Who wins the BCS battle of corrupt officiating?
Lol, what a clown you are. After your series of snide posts and insults, now you climb up on your little self-constructed pedestal and start pretending to be some sort of moral authority.
And I seriously doubt Kelly told anyone that if he got an offer from ND, that he'd leave Cincy before their season was over. Classless.
The usual ND bowl game? Let’s see. Notre Dame vs. Alabama in bowl games is 2-0, all time is 5-1, against the “legendary” Bear Bryant 4-0. See you (and your arrogant SEC faithful) in Miami.
That's about the only highlight for Nebraska, geez what an embarrassment.
Are you insane?
You can “seriously doubt” all you want. Ignorance on your part, in the name of hatred, is still ignorance.
