Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal announced in a press conference Wednesday evening that Israel "has failed in all its goals" in Operation Defensive Pillar, following the cease fire announcement.
"After eight days, God stayed their hand from the people of Gaza, and they were compelled to submit to the conditions of the resistance," Mashaal said. "Israel has failed in all its goals," he told reporters in a Cairo hotel.
Mashaal also thanked ceasefire mediator Egypt, as well as Iran, which he said "had a role in arming" Hamas during the conflict.
Arabs in Gaza took to the streets to celebrate the start of the truce deal, firing into the air and chanting victory slogans, AFP reported.
The celebrations began shortly after the 9:00 p.m. deadline for the ceasefire to begin, agreed in a deal between Israel and Hamas that was announced in Egypt.
Heavy celebratory gunfire could be heard throughout Gaza, and residents also released fireworks into the night sky, where Israeli drones could still be buzzing heard overhead. .....

That would work.
Gosharootie. Will they get free overland transport from Port Eilat, or will Egypt wave them through the Suez? I wonder what’s in the rest of that cease fire agreement.
When do Arabs not “take to the streets”? They’re always in the middle of the street.

She grabbed his little dog and threatened to throw him in the river. “Not little Toto,” shrieked Bibi.
No s@#$. Try driving down the street in Hebron, it’s like a never ending, directionless parade. Chickens, goats, donkeys, toddlers, young married couples, entire families constantly milling about like it’s their living room. And they move out of the way just enough to avoid being hit.
Anyone notice Hilary wearing green, (the color of the Pallirats) as well as Anderson Cooper and a bunch of other TV reporters fro the MSM wearing green jackets?
75 to 5 is a ratio that most military folk would consider a victory if the opposing sides had the same amount of troops....but Islam has a billion and Israel has a few million. Its like 300 or 400 to 1.
Israel needs to push everyone out of Gaza because everyone in Gaza is their enemy. .....actually they need to nuke Iran. Once they do that, everything else would be easier since supplies would lessen for the remainder of terroristic Islum.
Netenyahu better learn that time is not on Israel’s side. Every day the enemy gets more technologically advanced and politically stronger.
I'm envious of the IDF forces who sent them there.
I'm not sure what the Hildebeast said to Israel that coerced them into a cease fire but it was probably something to the affect of "I'll be president in January 2017, and if you think Obama has abandoned you wait until you see what I do."
The left is not above threats. We see it every day.
“All Palestinian factions shall stop all hostilities from the Gaza Strip against Israel, including rocket attacks and all attacks along the border.
.....
“Each party shall commit itself not to perform any acts that would breach this understanding. In case of any observations, Egypt as a sponsor of this understanding, shall be informed to follow up.”
All Palestinian factions were not party to the agreement, and thus can’t be bound by it, only Hamas, which will simply have PFLP do its missile launching for it for a time. What will Egypt do to “follow up”? Is Israel’s hands tied until Egypt finishes “follow[ing] up”? What a bunch of doubletalk. How did Bibi sign off on this worthless paper dove?
I have a nephew on active duty now, and it infuriates me that Bibi and Ehud take such a cavalier attitude towards their soldiers’ lives, among them my nephew’s, that remain on the line despite this worthless piece of blather they call an agreement. Stop having your idiot pollsters call me. I will never vote Likud.
It should be at the bottom of the Red Sea.
“...it will never end til every single one of those cockroaches are destroyed.”
Yup.
I know it is a holiday weekend, but everyone please take some time to write your congressman. I have a new congressman and I have to send a message. Yes, he’s a Republican, but I don’t know if he has any principles. We will see. If he does have principles then he will very vocally announce the following: (which is my request in my letter to him.)
1.) Egypt is a terrorist state.
2.) Turkey is a terrorist state.
3.) All funding to Egypt and Turkey will cease.
4.) Hamas is a terrorist organization.
5.) The Palestinian Authority is a terrorist organization.
6.) All funding going to Hamas and the PA will cease.
7.) The United States will unconditionally guarantee military supply chains to Israel and will ship in advance stockpiles of munitions, aircraft parts, tanks parts, and other military essentials needed for a protracted conflict.
8.) All those siding with Egypt, Hamas, Hezbollah, Turkey, Iran and any nation hostile to Israel will immediately lose all funding.
9.) Iran has 48 hours to begin the destruction of all nuclear,, chemical and biological weapons after the next session of congress is seated. Failure to do so will result in an act of congress to declare war in Iran. (Yes, that is a congressional power, sarcasm for FReepres).
10.) In 30 seconds the M1A1 Abrams tank factory in Egypt will be destroyed. We are not concerned with collateral damage within 1,000 miles of the factory. We are, after all a nation that is over $16 billion in debt. We can’t afford smart weapons to be used on Muslim vermin. (Yes, we are so f’n stupid to allow Muslims (Egyptians) to build our tanks.)
The population of Israel is said to be about 8 million.
It's hardly fair or accurate to factor in every muslim regardless where they may live. Why not factor in every Jew?
Warmonger./s?
I wonder how much of our money cankles gave the paliscum to lay off the rocket fire into Israel?
I do hope Israel is regrouping for the next wave of bombing and has a plan to hit deeper into the hamagoons and moslem filth.
Temporary lull...the enemies of Israel will make a big move eventually.
