Hostess Brands Inc. said Tuesday night that mediation talks with its bakers union failed and the company will proceed with plans to close down and sell its assets.

The Teamsters had a racket going with Hostess and the bakers union screwed it up for them. I expect the Teamsters will put a contract out on the head of the bakers union.
Exactly!!!
I hear that the company leading the running is Bimbo, the Mexican equivalent of Hostess. I'd be willing to bet that they just buy the name and the recipe rights to the Hostess pastry line, then run the production out of Mexico. They aren't going to want to chance having to deal with the baker's unions, et al, in this country.
Ubama is going to give them card-check, and the NLRB is going to force all employers to turn over the names and addresses of all their employees to the unions.
With these two tools, they can forge the signatures of employees and unionize and company without the consent of the employer or employees.
And their fist target is going to be Walmart and the billions of dollars of union dues they will be able to extort.
The Black Friday Walmart walkouts are being orchestrated straight out of the White Hut. You can take that to the bank.
as forest gump said, stupid is as stupid does...
Bimbo already owns Sara Lee, Entenmann’s, Thomas’ and a number of other US brands.
18,500 jobs lost and gone most likely to Mexico because of union greed
elections have consequences, sad but...
what really gets me steamed is Americans up in arms about not being able to buy little creamed filled cakes while they are silent about Americans murdered by terrorists in Libya. Libya? where is that give me my twinkie!
go to the store buy some flour, sugar, eggs and vanilla... maybe you’ll learn something. rant over
That’s serious money for driving a local truck.
And in some locations, they didn’t even have to load/unload, it was done by laborers.
That’s about what I made at an automotive supplier when I retired a few years ago, I supervised 17 people with engineering degrees.
Life is good.
Think so? Think again.
You're probably an honest conservative who's never had to live on the gubmint tit. Let me tell you. A full helping of Uncle Sugar's hog slop won't pay for the current lifestyles of those who just lost their union jobs. Not even close.
Those union dopes are about to lose their homes, and all the toys they're making payments on. I know, because it happened to me when I was a teamster, long ago. Might take a little time, but it's all gonna go.
Goodbye lifestyles of the fat and comfortable. Welcome to welfare hell.
Bimbo will buy the trademarks and recipes from Hostess and make Mexican Twinkies with real sugar.

I would be surprised if they were able to buy much. They had so much trouble with the purchase of Sara Lee because the anti trust laws. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t at least try.
Sounds like the real Ding Dongs were not the sweet products sold in stores.
Well I'll be.....I did not know that.
So where do the unions stand with those companies?
This happened at one the plants at the company I work for. Take some concessions and stay open, refuse and be shut down. The unemployment bennies must be very good in Racine Wisc because they chose unemployment. Good riddance to every union job lost
So it might be Bimbo Ho Hos, Ding Dongs and Twinkies? ;-)
From Hostess to Bimbo, the story of America.
They'll make them in the USA in right to work states with the same ingredients.
The bread contracts are very valuable - includes Chick fil A sandwich buns.
One thing I’ll remember about the Obama years is feeling stupid for working and paying my bills. Thanks to the voters, I’ll get another fours years of it.
Ain’t that the damned truth. Still doing better than the takers tough, don’t have to subsidize my freebies by selling dope, pimping or robbing
