Founder and chief executive of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch, apologized for posting a message on Twitter slamming the "Jewish owned press" for its anti Israel coverage of the Gaza conflict.
Murdoch reportedly received angry responses to his tweet, which asked: "Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti-Israel in every crisis?"
"Middle East ready to boil over any day. Israel position precarious. Meanwhile watch CNN and AP bias to point of embarrassment," Murdoch wrote in a second tweet in support of the Jewish state.
Due to negative backlash, the media mogul tweeted an apology ...

He didn’t say that Jews own the media. He was appalled that the Jewish-owned media outlets, and there are many, are so pathologically anti-Israel. I concur, and that is no reflection whatever on free enterprise. They are free to make asses of themselves, and Rupert and I are free to wonder at the phenomenon. But I wonder if a look at SEC filings might reveal a major shareholder in some of those outlets, such as the Saudis.
This could be attributable to Murdoch or just to poor reporting, or even a lack of attention on my part, but I think he should be very clear when making statements along the lines of, “Why is Jewish owned press so consistently anti-Israel in every crisis?”
Is he only talking about a segment? Is he accepting a premise within this comment? Did I make a mistake of thinking he was referencing the press at large?
I’m willing to accept that I may have misinterpreted his intent.
I do accept that some media outlets are owned by people with Jewish ancestry. I do see a sad lack of understanding on their part, when it comes to what is best for Israel.
There are people out there who think ‘the Jews’ own everything and are gaming U. S. Citizens. I do view that premise in a very negative light. That probably did play into my response.
I may have been a little unfair to Murdock. It wasn’t intentional. In my instincts to be protective of certain people, there are times when I’m going to react to something seeing it as more improper than it was. This is probably an instance where I did.
Murdock and I do share the opinion that Israel does not get the support it should from certain segments of the U. S. populace.
I do not see the U. S. press owned by ‘the Jews’.
Thanks for the response.
No mention of Murdoch’s anti-Israel publications/broadcasts in the UK.

I have been watching and reading local news outlets in Florida for MANY years, and though I don’t know that the OWNERS or their families are Jewish, I DO know that many of the “decision” makers in the editorial side are Jewish.
Doesn’t matter: they often report the anti-Jewish nonsense...to a point of making me sick to my stomach.
I haven’t heard ONE report, for instance, in the Miami media (Miami has a sizable Jewish population) about the current Middle East situation that takes Obama to task for not siding strongly with Israel OR one that points out that Hamas puts bomb making factories and rocket launchers near playgrounds and mosques.
I DO hear on Miami media a lot about how Israel has killed “x” number of children.
Again, not saying the owners of these media outlets are Jewish (some are publicly traded companies, for instance), but MANY of these media facilities have Jewish managers and bosses...people who OUGHT to know better.
Their God is Marx.
Irrelevant. He’s not Jewish, just an opportunistic business man. The NY Post is his, and is strongly pro-Israel, but so is his readership in NY. I could imagine him running anti-Israel publications where the readership is anti-Israel. People don’t want to be convinced, or to hear dissenting views. They want to have their own views confirmed. Rupert wants to sell papers, so he can charge high rates for ads.
But for that reason alone, he can tweet his astonishment that Jewish-owned or run outlets do not show awareness of such pragmatic considerations. They are anti-Israel with all their hearts, regardless of their readership’s/
audience’s views.
Our Jewish friends that either don't support Israel at all or it's so weak as to be non-existent.
Jewish friends and acquaintances consider me radical, like "ultra-conservative" Jews in Israel and think I'm only supporting Israel because I want to convert Jews!
Of course, those Jews of whom I speak, know nothing about their heritage and certainly understand nothing at all about their religion!
Murdoch is a major media baron, and he’s not Jewish. Murdoch knows better than almost anyone that not all U.S. media are owned or controlled by Jews. When he talks about “Jewish-owned press” — he’s talking about particular media outlets, which happen to be owned by Jews.
The notion that U.S. media is controlled by Jews is widespread — and that’s what the critics, and the article writer were implying Murdoch meant. That’s left Murdoch apologizing, not for what he actually said; but for what his critics inferred from what they thought they heard him saying.
I think that’s a good assessment.
I know the media dislikes the guy, and it’s reasoned to believe they aren’t going to give the guy an honest hearing.
Thanks for the follow-up.
Groucho?
I understand and Roseanne Barr is good example of obnoxious. We have those too, and they’re called CINOS (Catholics in name only) and they’re obnoxious too: Nancy Pelosi, Senator Leahy, Joe Biden etc., all of whom stand by the Marxist and Planned Parenthood in their unconscionable infanticide, completely against the Church.
They’re likely without conscience and soul.
If only.
