Fat chance for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies White House aspirations in the wake of his post-Sandy bromance with President Obama.
National Republican political consultant John McLaughlin said Christie didnt do himself any favors with his enthusiastic embrace of Obama after Hurricane Sandy devastated his state or with his arguably self-serving Republican National Convention keynote speech....
McLaughlin added that just a couple of days after Christie lavished praise on Obama, the president certainly might have deserved some criticism, and still to this day, because the federal response in the area is nonexistent in a lot of ways.
Christie has been unapologetic for his praise of Obama and noted his stumping on Mitt Romneys behalf.

Like Ann Coulter....
Coulter is NOT a conservative’s friend ...
Stop buying her books....
I personally think the reasons we lost this run way, way deeper than a photo op on a beach.
But yes, his career in the GOP is toast.
Negative. Bundlers will remember that all too well...
She follows the RINOs around like a puppy. She's an inside the beltway Republican(D).
Next thing we’ll hear is that Christie was exchanging emails with Jill Kelley...
Or Rubio. Perhaps they can have a rock-off air guitar contest or something...
Christie is toast.
Shove it RINOChristie, up that Obamabutt you so love to kiss.
Disagee. The image of him embracing Obama with a big stupid grin on his face has legs. If you assume Obama will make a wreck of the economy over the next four years (a pretty safe assumption) then four years from now those images will be hauled out and played with the darth vader music and ominous voice overs like "Obama ruined America. Unemployment is up, hope is down. Chris Christie praised Obama and called him competent. Call Chris Christie and tell him how you feel". Sort of like how they used pictures of Bush with everyone he ever met when they were running in 2006 and 2008. Except this time it will be from GOP PACs.
It didn't keep Romney from the nomination. Why would it stop Chrispie? It's his turn. I bloody hate it, but the elite have already decided. Notice how the press magically loves Chrispie now?
I hope you’re right. I just don’t see the establishment republicans letting it happen as you’ve stated, unfortunately. The alternative is the RINO Bush. I’d rather poke myself in the eye with a soldering iron that vote for another Bush.
I wonder what gave TFB the bigger tingle, his walk in the sun with Der Leader or his reach around from Springsteen?
The elites choose our candidate for us every time. They "nudge" the base into their chosen direction. A little praise for their guy here, an little slam for the other guy there.
Eventually, with all the praise and slams being planned in advance, their RINO(D) ends up with the pie.
No one wanted Romney, but in the end, he was the only one the REPUBLICAN talking heads were praising. All the others got slammed 24/7 or outed somehow - buy our Republican elitists. In the end, either we vote for their guy, "or the democrat wins."
Christie’s appearance will kill him. (Maybe literally)
That is one big butt =)
... and IMHO whisper sweet nothings into multiple conservatives ears who have absolutely no chance of winning just so the conservative vote gets split and we end up with people like McCain and Romney.
Right.
Like Mittens, there will be a gnashing of teeth....until he’s head of the ticket. Then, they’ll be lining up to kiss his ass (Hey, he’s ‘our’ guy and we have to support the GOPe..Err, uh, Republicanss) while bashing those with conviction that sat it out (or voted 3rd party) as a vote for the ‘other team’.
How many times does the dog and pony show need to be done before people (hell, people HERE) realize they’re being suckered?!
As much as I liked Paul Ryan, I don’t see him on a future ticket. He needs more leadership experience in his current job before being VP qualified.
Christie never impressed me that much, mainly because of his reflexive anti-gun stance. Yes, he sticks it to the unions...he HAS to do something to distinguish himself from the Dems.
But now he is dead to me, politically speaking. The only thing that I’d like to see him do is take away Lousyberg’s seat. President? NFW!
HAHA! So true, in every sense of the word!
Oh, come on now, in 2016 you know the GOP establishment boys'll be signing on to FreeRepublic to browbeat you about supporting Christie just like they did this year with Romney! It'll be Armageddon all over again unless you do!
