Fat chance for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s White House aspirations in the wake of his post-Sandy bromance with President Obama.

National Republican political consultant John McLaughlin said Christie didn’t do himself any favors with his enthusiastic embrace of Obama after Hurricane Sandy devastated his state — or with his arguably self-serving Republican National Convention keynote speech....

McLaughlin added that just “a couple of days after” Christie lavished praise on Obama, the president “certainly might have deserved some criticism, and still to this day, because the federal response in the area is nonexistent in a lot of ways.”

Christie has been unapologetic for his praise of Obama and noted his stumping on Mitt Romney’s behalf.

As much as I hate what he did...., this will probably all be forgotten soon enough 4 years from now.

If we make sure the public first realizes and then remembers that the government response to Sandy has been even worse than that to Katrina, fatboy won’t be able to get away from it sticking to him.

That depends on how much pain America goes through over the next four years.

Wait wasn’t Christie a Party favorite. Did not we hear stories about insiders begging him to run?

Better for both the GOP and Christie’s popularity in New Jersey to stoke the outrage. If Christie’s chances at the Presidency are scuttled, his popularity in New Jersey may allow him to take the Senate seat from Lautenberg. Lautenberg will be 90 years old when up for reelection in 2014.

Christie was not ever going to get the republican nod as a presidential candidate. Nor would he get it from the democrats.

The media being what it is, and appearance being so critical to the message, Christie is dead in the water. It’s not going to happen.

Add on top of that his liberal positions with a conservative base, and it would have been an uphill struggle in the first place.

He really has no place to go.

Insiders wanted him to run. Outsiders - which is virtually all of the GOP - did not. Anti-gun, social liberal who is a bit right of most of NJ...won’t cut it in the south, Texas, west, mid-west, etc. And now he is Obama’s butt boy.

It’s not a minor point that there was no federal response when he praised Obama, and a typical to poor one since then, I think the whole thing is disgusting.

For me that “storm” is called a yellow s**t storm. He will never see my vote.

AS I said the day after this election, if Christie wants it, the establishment republicans will make him your next Republican presidential nominee. I mean come on, that was what all that preening Chrispie was doing at the Convention was about.

And then buddying up to Owebama? Done deal. It’s “his turn” and Iowa and New Hampshire will have already decided which weak-kneed republicans will be a factor long before the primaries reach my state. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I said the day after the ‘08 election that Romney was your next Pubbie nominee. Just sayin’.

Crispy has to first get by an election for gov next year...an election he probably will not win now no matter how many times he fellates der Leader on national TV.

Memo to GOP: do not run another candidate who cannot carry his home state.

Precisely. Remember also that fat boy faces re-election as governor next year. If he runs and loses, he's finished.

If he really wants Lautenberg's seat, he probably isn't going to run.

In either case, the voters of New Jersey are collectively too stupid to vote in anything other than a soft socialist like fat boy or a certified Marxist like ObaMao.

If he doesn’t lose 200 pounds, he won’t even be around in 2016.

He's been nicknamed "The Fat Ba$tard"(TFB for short).
THAT will stick, and every time it's mentioned, people will remember.

Romney was up 7 until TFB had verbal intercourse (LOL. 'Oral' sex.) with "The One" on national TV.

Actually, according to the "turn" system the 2016 nominee has to be either:
  1. Rick Santorum-- first runner up in the 2012 primary season or
  2. Paul Ryan-- vice presidential nominee.

Either one would be highly acceptable to the conservative base. Christie? Not so much. They sold us Mitt Romney because (1)he fully supported our nominee in 2008 and (2)he at least pretended to like conservatives. Christie failed on (2) and his pre-election photo ops with ObaMao mark him as an abject failure on (1) as well.
