he’d been told “by people in the room” that Petraeus had in fact been “the one guy” who said the Benghazi attack was an act of terrorism and not a protest to a video.

Why beleive "people in the room" when you can watch him in the video of the last Bengazi hearing say that it was because of some video that nobody watched. Newt needs to find another room to hang out in.

Nothing makes sense. It is very difficult to process ANY of this, beginning on September 11,2012 through the election results to this aftermath with Petraeus, Broadwell and so on- NOTHING makes sense.

It’s tempting to knee-jerk and react to it all with simple explanations. I would be comforted if only I could FIND a simple explanation. So far- all I see is a web of lies that has effectively covered whatever the truth may be.

We seem to be sitting on the edge of something...hovering near it, maybe getting a glimpse of light only to have it obscured by the next lie.

One thing DOES seem clear- we have no cause to trust our government. Any of it- on the right or the left.

Anyone else remember that Spanish election with the Madrid Bombing right before. The Anti-American Socialists won because the sitting Spanish Government pointed fingers in the wrong direction as a politically opportunistic move. Iirc they blamed the Basque Separatists when it was really Al Qaeda. The fact that they got called out for being so brazen cost them the election.

Looks like the same thing here, except 1.) since that was local an this (Libya) is on the other side of the planet there’s an emotional insulation factor here ( most people really don’t care) and 2.) rather than challenging the governments narrative (as happened in Spain with a Socialist media going after a more conservative government), the US MSM went along with the Administrations narrative.

The big lesson here is that in both cases the local news media was completely in bed with one of the political parties ... and were able to successfully drive the overall narrative.

I think Soetoro wants more military blood to support sequestration.

from the article: "Gingrich said... that he’d been told “by people in the room” that Petraeus had in fact been “the one guy” who said the Benghazi attack was an act of terrorism and not a protest to a video."

This is not accepted as true at Fox News.
Their major focus is: how did Petraeus claim it was a protest over a video, as in Egypt, when they already knew Benghazi was an organized terrorist attack?

Fox has never suggested that Petraeus did not blame the video.

Could the women involved in this situation be operatives of the left, who lured Petraeus into compromising situations so that Obama could dump him down the road if he needed to?

I wasn’t there at Benghazi, but that event looks like a “Raid” and not an “Attack”. Basically, an attack is where you go in to take control of a piece of ground and retain it. Basically, a raid is where you go in and fight and then leave. The thugs in Libya didn’t seize and hold either location. Thus, it was a raid. They fought and left. Petraeus went to Ranger School. They learn all about raids at that school. Petraeus would have looked at Benghazi and asked himself, “Attack or raid?”. He would have seen the thugs withdraw and known, without anyone telling him, that this was a military raid. His next questions would have been, “What kind of raid?” and “Why?”.
