Operative Faith reveals that Kroger will soon join the ranks of Durden Restaurants and slash the hours of its non-exempt (hourly) workers to avoid millions in Obamacare penalties.
To give you a sense of Krogers size and importance, its sales last year were $90 billion and it employs nearly 350,000 people. Most of its jobs are hourly and the vast majority of workers are neither millionaires or billionaires.
Faith is a mid-level manager at Kroger and reports the dire news:
Last week we found out that, beginning in January, any employee who is not full-time at that point, will be limited to 28 hours per week and all new hires will be subject to the same policy.
Currently, part-time employees can work as many hours as needed.
Many Kroger employees, I believe, will be shocked to find out about this new policy.

Hello sixty/seventy hour work weeks.
And the unemployment rate goes through the roof.
“Work two 20 hr/week jobs @ sub $10/hr wages.”
Naw, you’ll still work 40 hours per week or more, you’ll just spend more hours driving from job 1 to job 2 and possibly to job 3 and still not have ‘health benefits.’
Let them go on with their scheme, because they are sealing the fate of the Democrat party for generations to come.
I thought Americans would think through the Obamacare ramifications prior to the 2012 election, and that was my fatal error.
Once the effects of this monstrosity are unleashed on the American people and our businesses, they will overwhelmingly and vigorously cast it off in an epic political smack down, and the Democrat party with it. Let them continue.
Then I guess we’ll have a lot more RINOs to contend with.
Tyler Durden for president!
“It wont take long.”
Just long enough for all of us to get a flavor for the suck that is Obama.
Think of the hit all the grocery stores will take when the food stamps are cut in Ohio. That’s what they get for allowing the democrats to cheat.
“After we remove 0 we need to hike the voting age or make them take a common sense test.”
No, no, no — you need to own property AND have a job AND cannot be receiving any government checks outside of retirement benefits in order to vote!
The moochers and the looters are upon us.
isn’t it “Wegmans”????
to him, you are worthless trash, able to be thrown away without thought...
true.
But you must join a union to work at Kroger. A 3 fingered butcher reminded me once.
Headline looks like a horror movie title!
Pretty sure Krogers is a union shop.
Imagine that!.....heh heh heh
Wagmans? Never heard of that one. It sounds like you mean Wegmans, but you cant, because Wegmans is one of the biggest ripoffs around. The only worse ripoff is Fresh Fields.
why is this funny to me? because i come from massachusetts and there are mayors who won’t allow a walmart in but they are having ribbon cutting partes for wegmans. this country is so messed up
Interesting...must be a regional thing. I can shop for groceries at Wal-Mart or Target or even Trader Joe’s and spend $75 or so. But the same groceries (same brands, too) will cost me over $100 at Wegman’s, and I get a hassle over coupons to boot. Apparently if the total value of the coupons is over $10 Wegman’s requires a management override. So we don’t shop there anymore.
And what would the numbers likely be if one was to include under employment, i.e. full time jobs reduce to part time jobs as a result of Obummercare?
Tell that to GM and Chrysler. They were private and yet too big to fail.
A pox on unions they bring nothing but misery.
