I reached out to a senior military source who has worked with Petraeus, (P4) as he's referred to within the service, and who helped provide background information for Broadwell's book. I'll call the officer "James Downing"). A transcript of our conversation follows:
BI: Did anyone know about the affair before today?
James: I'm not sure anyone really "knew", per se. But it's one of those things that, as soon as the announcement was made, I knew in an instant who it was. Everything made sense. Who had exclusive access to him? Who wrote the hagiography on his life? Who framed their entire existence around his persona? It wasn't hard to make the guess, and the rest is public knowledge now. One day, she's celebrating her birthday as an accomplished (if you want to use that term) author and PhD candidate, the next she's Paula Jones.
BI: Did you know Broadwell long?
James: I've known her for a few years, probably five or six. When she started work on the bio she called me for background on one of the general's previous deployments. I probably gave her four hours or so, and we stayed in touch after that by email and an occasional phone call. Over that time, she went from someone very likeable to a shameless self-promoting prom queen. A very disturbing shift in how she carried herself. If she knew P4 was going to make an appearance at an event, she'd crash it without an invitation (she actually did this at the wedding of some close friends of mine) and photo bomb[ed] sic everyone there.

Been that way ever since, EVERYONE passes the blame on to someone else.
Was Paula connected to Obama’s coven by chance? Inquiring minds want to know.....
What makes this even more lousy is that patraeus’s wife is fat and looks like a plainclothes nun, while his paramour is a trim, attractive womna who is twenty years younger than the wife. (I am not trying to be mean to patraeus’s wife. I feel very sorry for her. She’s been betrayed and humiliated.)
It’s interesting to hear that Broadwell is a West Point graduate too........
I think this is just another Fluke.
Within the Army, it was hard to criticize Petraeus. He was a one star, I think, when he was put in charge of training the Iraqi police. They had their first graduation of recruits and two car bombs go off at the graduation. They interviewed Petraeus, who was there, and he mumbled. I made the comment that this guy is an idiot, and man, did I get yelled at. The sad truth is that Petraeus is trim and a good distance runner and that is what has mattered in the Army for the past 30 years. Good, skinny runners who aren’t smart enough to figure out how to win.
If he was so unhappy, he could have divorced her. Instead, he lied, and crept around like a two bit louse. He put his country at risk for being such a small minded prick. The head of the CIA was potentially able to be black mailed. Sad for the country that men like Petraeus have no integrity and are willing to put their perverted desires above the protection of this country. What’s even worse is how some here would support such acts, with hate full vengeance to a devoted wife and mother. Most likely a reflection of their own rotten soul. No wonder this country is in the state it’s in.
Petraeus was more concerned about a stupid Florida pastor than with killing the enemy in Afghanistan.
You hit on the thing about Monicagate.....what if the Russkies had to the Goods on Clinton and Monica and blackmailed him.......shouldn’t that have concerned anyone?
And if that letter came from her husband - wow - what a colossal douchebag he is!! How do you show your cuckolded face in DC after this? Welllll, I suppose he will get some major points from the Gimmidats for his sacrifice. Ugh.
There are a lot of brain-dead FReepers who imagine that the military or LEOs are some repository of morality, right up until those military and LEOs kill them.

All the exectutives with knowledge of Benghazi are now civilians or shortly to become civilians. This means no classified information may be released without agency vetting.
This has been effectively covered up 100% as far as I can tell.

Was that Petraeus or someone else? I do know that Pastor Terry Jones was accused by Karzai and the "American" media of being responsible for the deaths of U.N. staffers last year.
