Under their new collective bargaining agreement, Transportation Security Administration officers get to spend more taxpayer money on their uniforms every year than a United States Marine Corps lieutenant can spend in a lifetime.
TSA employees will see their uniform allowances nearly double to $446 per year, the House Transportation Committee noted in a press release on the TSAs new collective bargaining agreement. By comparison, a combat Marine Lieutenant receives a one-time uniform allowance of $400. The cost of the increase in TSA uniform allowance is an estimated $9.63 million annually.

Yep, for $13...you could have bought the shirt and pants. I think the belt ran for $2.90. The plain white t-shirts were three in a pack at the uniform shop for $2. The plain chuka boots were around $22. And those itchy wool socks were $3 for five pair....which rarely lasted more than six months.
I remember at some point...those stupid black t-shirts were going for $7 each. If you wanted the fancy jungle boots...you were paying $90.
I was enlisted, and I got squat all....
As I recall, Obama stated early on that he wanted a civilian national security force “as well funded as the military.”
DHS. 250,000+ employees now and billions of rounds of ammo.
