This whole thing about Gen.Petraeus resigning over some personal affair he had with some woman does not meet the smell test.
As if ? this kind of thing is unprecedented ?

Someone at FR please enlighten me. Why would the FBI EVER be "investigating" a general in the field, FAR away from the USA?

For that matter, why would Obama ask the FBI to "investigate" Benghazi?

Isn't the FBI a strictly domestic organization?

And BTW, didn't Nixon get in trouble for trying to pit the CIA vs. the FBI to cover up his crimes?

I don't think Obamajarret has appointed anybody to any senior position that they didn't already have dirt on. That keeps them on a short leash, and makes them disposable when most convenient.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the little lady hadn't been sent to Petraeus from the shadows as a sort of political honeytrap, but that still wouldn't excuse him.

He is being set up. Remember the Admiral (Jeremy Boorda) under Clinton who was told he was wearing a valor device on a medal (and had been for over a decade), but now he was told he wasn't entitled to wear it--and after a couple of days of press, supposedly committed suicide over it?

Petreus had stated that no order came from CIA to withhold any aid from our people in Benghazi. That meant the order came from higher up. (Because Pannetta had said the order didn't come from the Pentagon). Now, with no Republican Senate to effect an Impeachment, they are both out.

I wasn't worried about the POTUS race so much, but I think the election stealing happened in the Senate races to make Duh-1 'safe'.
