In an exclusive interview with RT, President Bashar Assad said that the conflict in Syria is not a civil war, but proxy terrorism by Syrians and foreign fighters. He also accused the Turkish PM of eyeing Syria with imperial ambitions.
Assad told RT that the West creates scapegoats as enemies from communism, to Islam, to Saddam Hussein. He accused Western countries of aiming to turn him into their next enemy.
While mainstream media outlets generally report on the crisis as a battle between Assad and Syrian opposition groups, the president claims that his country has been infiltrated by numerous terrorist proxy groups fighting on behalf of other powers.
In the event of a foreign invasion of Syria, Assad warned, the fallout would be too dire for the world to bear.

Erdogan is Obama’s BEST friend and is the reason 0bama didn’t rescue Americans in Benghazi which would’ve led to killing of attackers. 0bama chose not to offend his Muslim friend by killing the attackers working on his behalf. Stevens had just exited a meeting with Erdogan’s ambassador, right? 40 minutes later the attack started. Coincidence? NO.
Yes this man and his father have been some serious SOB’s, but pay attention.. he see’s what this is really all about and we are complicit by siding with the Caliphate and radical fundamentalists..
Obama’s fault.
Gee Wally, Glenn Beck has been screaming about a Caliphate for the last 2 years, but hey he is still nuttier than a fruitcake on castro street in san nanny-state-sicko....
Yeah nothing to worry about here... Move along, the MSM is always right no Caliphate to be seen here...
As someone of middle eastern origin(Christian), I have to say that I am rooting for him eventhough his regimedohave a dodgy past in regards to Lebanon, but what was obvious in Lebanon was that his father played all sides regardless of religion for the benefit of Syria. Christians in Syria have a good quality of life unlike most other middle eastern countries. I have 0 sympathy for the Sunni terrorists that roam the middle east, and their financial backers the Saudis and Qataris. It is unreal how country by country we have supported radical sunnis, Syria is ongoing and the only country left will be Lebanon. Then all muslim countries would have effectively rendered christians as second class citizens open to the barbarity of Sunni extremism. I really feel sorry for middle eastern christians. I recall Henry Kissinger once telling the Lebanese president prior to the Lebanese civil war that it would be bestif the christians of Lebanon immigrated to the west, which was taken as an insult as the land of Lebanon is the land of the Maronite church and should not be abandoned, the same way egypt is the land of the Coptic church. I feel that maybe it would be for the best they start immigrating to the US or Europe.
Would be alot of conservative votes aswell
people are idiots when it comes to history and geography, and more so in the west
and so everyone keeps thinking that if Russia was not the mobocracy it is under Putin, that Russia would have no national interest of its own in what is happening in Syria, and who is working for whom there
and everyone is wrong
it is the west that has much bigger blinders on when it comes to the Middle East than does Russia
My cat is the sultan of the ottoman.
Your cat would get my vote, over Erdogan.
Something in my gut this whole time has given me this bad feeling about Syria and how we’ve been bread and led to hate them, I know the past and his father and him as well, and what they’ve done but somehow I felt an inclination to sympathize him and I felt bad about it. Seems that nothing is as cut and dry as we were led. Hearing his perspective you can see something is rotten. Erdogn as we all know (and yes Glenn Beck was right, as was Joel Richardson) is a dangerous character that has been using NATO to play along with his ambitions.
