It appears the America I knew and loved will be a quaint memory.
By whatever means, the forces of the extreme left have undertaken, and apparently succeeded, in performing the coup de grace on a staggering nation.
The causes of their Presidential election-year victory are many. They include:
Demographics helped tip this election. This is another unrelenting trend. Single mothers will not lessen any time soon, and these women tend to view government as a caretaker -- and so they look to Democrats. There is talk in the Republican camp of loosening immigration standards and, probably, amnesty for illegal aliens. Therefore, we will continue to see an inexorable rise in the number of Latinos in America. I say this without judgment, but merely as an observation. However, they vote predominantly Democrat.
And as our students are relentlessly taught morals and values that the extreme left holds dear, the adults who will stand by our side, and eventually replace us, will continue to add to the numbers of the extreme left citizenry.
What can we expect?
I, your humble author, wish I had better news. I wish I had a solution to all this. I don't. Perhaps someone smarter than I can come up with an idea.
I will mention this: The solution must be Gramscian in nature, that would allow us to slowly subvert the forces of Marxism. Gramsci was a Marxist himself, and he came up with the concept of a 'political society' (which rules through force) and a 'civil society' (which rules through consent). The Marxists understood this and realized that the most powerful ideological shifts can only come by the will of the people. The failures of Nazi Germany and the USSR generally show the Marxists that force is a poor substitute for civil will. It should show us the same.
There are those among us I hear speaking of a complete collapse of the US economy as a solution -- a reset button, if you will. Does anyone seriously believe that a government that would follow would be MORE like the America of liberty and free enterprise that we yearn for? Remember, the citizenry (with great voter fraud help) voted Obama back into office after a miserable four-year leftist performance. Even without the voter fraud, there still remains fully half of America that holds the ideals of the left as sacrosanct. We can dismiss the 'reset button' idea as impractical and unlikely to achieve our goals.
Any solution we undertake will be and must be, multi-generational. We will not live to see its fruits. There must be a meeting of great minds to start determining a long term course that will help return our land to the liberty and the love of free enterprise we once had.
I do have some good news. It appears that the left is not choosing to kill its enemies, at least not yet. I hope they continue to remain nonviolent. If they have studied Gramsci well, they probably will remain nonviolent. Political force is ultimately self-defeating.
If that remains the case, we can still pursue our lives. We can raise our children, marry, laugh, love and honor our God, and enjoy and build the best life we can, albeit at a lower standard of living than we have had. I recommend that, while still searching for a solution to these issues, each and every one of you do this very thing. We have no control over the nation, ultimately (though we can impart our small spin) so enjoy your life to the fullest!
HOW in the heck do we EVER get it through the RNC’s heads that we’re DONE with them? That they need to change NOW!
Anyone?
(don’t tell me not to send them any money...I should hope NO one on this forum gives them a cent!)
If there was a land on which we could proclaim this document anew, I would emigrate immediately. This land is polluted by those citizens on the left.
George W. Bush WILL be the LAST Republican President. If a decent man like Romney can’t win, then no one on our side can. It’s over.
Mentioned.
Bump to the last paragraph.
A good read ,thanks Laz.
Okay Laz. Good point. Have been leaning the other way because of this ... the coming pain. The pain is going to happen anyway. That was my reason for let it fail. May have to reconsider my thought of let it fail.
I know...I was just agreeing.
The situation looks that bleak to me as well. Ultimately, I do hope that we will have some kind of revolution that will return this country to one of which we can be proud. Part of making that return will require some reassessment on the part of many who had considered themselves “patriots,” “conservatives,” and other good kinds of good Americans. While I have no doubt that the election was taken by fraud, Mr. Romney received fewer votes than John McCain received four years ago. We have no excuse for that, and those who refused to vote for Mr. Romney for whatever reason have destroyed this country as surely as if they were shredding the Constitution with their own hands. If we ever have a hope of restoration, we must be willing to open a big tent rather than a small one. We must stand on principles, but we must not define that stand so narrowly that we can never include enough people to govern “with the consent of the governed.” Fourteen years ago, Free Republic was a great place to gather conservatives and near conservatives of all kinds. Every election since then has resulted in more and more purges so that little is left. If we can resurrect the USA that we all knew, we will need leadership that knows how to build and not just how to destroy.
You are welcome. I am getting the final three hours of sleep I am permitted before work tomorrow. I just had to get up and write this while the muse struck.
The squish lost because he could not enthuse his base. Karl Rove, FOX News and the GOP-e ignored the tea party base (hell, kicked us in the teeth) and engineered a royal pooch screwing. Karl Rove can kiss my grits.
Some people were suggesting that conservatives move to red states. I think that could help, we are about to lose Texas and that’s a lot of EV’s. California would be nice to have but it is too far gone. Maybe if they collapse there is a chance to take it back?
I don’t know but that’s the only chance that I see. Pick the big EV states and take them over...consolidate. Take the schools back, network homeschooling and get very involved with local politics. That’s all I can think of. But we really are at the end. It’s not hype.
I would love to see our forum welcome more people like, or nearly like, us.
Jim personally, I do not want karl rove anywhere nearly those girls raised in the south. Agreement Jim.
But in the long term, that, too, will go down. Demographics kill us. We need a long term solution.
we can still pursue our lives. We can raise our children, marry, laugh, love and honor our God, and enjoy and build the best life we canI have moved on to Christmas early.
It's a mid-term idea, but it is a holding action only, and it requires people have jobs to move to.
” There is, of course, unprecedented and wholesale voter fraud.”
Say it often, say it louder!
Maybe I should move to Germany. You can buy me dinner for all that grief you gave me when we first met. ;)
Changing demographics my, foot. The tea party was the best thing going for the Republicans since the Reagan Coalition and they kicked us to the curb and anointed their moderate, er, flip-flopping RINO squish. The handwriting was on the wall before the primaries were over. C’mon. Give me a break. The incompetent Marxist Obama destroyed the economy and has America on the path to destruction and our guy can’t even muster as many votes as John McCain? McCain? Sheesh!
