America, A Quaint Memory....
Original Content | Nov 9, 2012 | By Laz A. Mataz

It appears the America I knew and loved will be a quaint memory.

By whatever means, the forces of the extreme left have undertaken, and apparently succeeded, in performing the coup de grace on a staggering nation.

The causes of their Presidential election-year victory are many. They include:

Fraud helped tip this election. While it is entertaining to think of ways to unseat the benefiters of such fraud, it is not likely to happen. The fraudulent results shall stand. And, the fraud will snowball, as those who benefit from the fraud make sure no laws can be enacted to prevent fraud. It will increase, and it does not appear there is any recourse to stop it.

Demographics helped tip this election. This is another unrelenting trend. Single mothers will not lessen any time soon, and these women tend to view government as a caretaker -- and so they look to Democrats. There is talk in the Republican camp of loosening immigration standards and, probably, amnesty for illegal aliens. Therefore, we will continue to see an inexorable rise in the number of Latinos in America. I say this without judgment, but merely as an observation. However, they vote predominantly Democrat.

And as our students are relentlessly taught morals and values that the extreme left holds dear, the adults who will stand by our side, and eventually replace us, will continue to add to the numbers of the extreme left citizenry.

What can we expect?

  1. A Republican party who, pointlessly, will shift far to the left. They will not capture any more votes than the Democrats, of course. But they will try.

  2. No more Republican Presidents, ever. George W. Bush is very likely the last Republican President you will see in your adult lifetimes.

  3. Congressmen and Senators will be increasingly Democrat, until, as in California, there will be a supermajority in both Houses of Congress. In short, American politics will become a single-party affair.

  4. Firearms ownership will be drastically curtailed, via a UN Treaty that will subvert, if not supercede, our Second Amendment. The world looks at America as an oddball, and the world wants our guns gone.

  5. We will be increasingly Socialist/Communist. Socialism and especially Communism destroys innovation, strips hope, and makes poverty universal.

I, your humble author, wish I had better news. I wish I had a solution to all this. I don't. Perhaps someone smarter than I can come up with an idea.

I will mention this: The solution must be Gramscian in nature, that would allow us to slowly subvert the forces of Marxism. Gramsci was a Marxist himself, and he came up with the concept of a 'political society' (which rules through force) and a 'civil society' (which rules through consent). The Marxists understood this and realized that the most powerful ideological shifts can only come by the will of the people. The failures of Nazi Germany and the USSR generally show the Marxists that force is a poor substitute for civil will. It should show us the same.

There are those among us I hear speaking of a complete collapse of the US economy as a solution -- a reset button, if you will. Does anyone seriously believe that a government that would follow would be MORE like the America of liberty and free enterprise that we yearn for? Remember, the citizenry (with great voter fraud help) voted Obama back into office after a miserable four-year leftist performance. Even without the voter fraud, there still remains fully half of America that holds the ideals of the left as sacrosanct. We can dismiss the 'reset button' idea as impractical and unlikely to achieve our goals.

Any solution we undertake will be and must be, multi-generational. We will not live to see its fruits. There must be a meeting of great minds to start determining a long term course that will help return our land to the liberty and the love of free enterprise we once had.

I do have some good news. It appears that the left is not choosing to kill its enemies, at least not yet. I hope they continue to remain nonviolent. If they have studied Gramsci well, they probably will remain nonviolent. Political force is ultimately self-defeating.

If that remains the case, we can still pursue our lives. We can raise our children, marry, laugh, love and honor our God, and enjoy and build the best life we can, albeit at a lower standard of living than we have had. I recommend that, while still searching for a solution to these issues, each and every one of you do this very thing. We have no control over the nation, ultimately (though we can impart our small spin) so enjoy your life to the fullest!

You make the point of them having 50 years of experience in the War on Drugs.

My point is that despite that fact, drugs are ubiquitous.

Making guns and ammo illegal will only take them off the store shelves and into the trunk of someone’s car or the back of a van.

"Can you cite the de Tocqueville prediction? It would save me the lookup, and enrich this thread."

Mais certainment, avec plaisir ...

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.” ― Alexis de Tocqueville

That is, indeed, the short term. I will be required to stay relatively close to a blue zone in a very red state, for work purposes. But, given the need to escape, I have a friend who will welcome me in the more rural regions.

I’m pretty sure that’s a bogus internet quote, but no matter, it’s probably close enough to his thoughts.

Folks, let me give a little analysis here...

Yes, the O-bomination is fully upon us, but even in the wreck of a defeat, there are things we can salvage.

Jim, while I agree that the economy is in ruins, it is NOT destroyed yet. The wheels of commerce and capitalism grind on - albeit slowly. Yes, the apparatus is in place to destroy it, but the machine is not in gear yet. We can interrupt it before the double-clutch comes - IF we display resolve to reverse it, unlike our current leadership.

Next point is, the Left has displayed their one important, maybe fatal flaw: HASTE. Let me illustrate:

Look back to early 2007. Newly anointed Speaker Pelosi, barely days in power, corners GWB in the White House. It's easy to divine what was said to Bush: "You have 24 hours to fire Rumsfeld or the impeachment proceedings start." The very next day, Rumsfeld "tenders his resignation".

Fast-forward to 2009. The Leftists, giddy over the realization that they fully hold the reins of power, go into overdrive to implement the O-bomination. Why the urgency? Hindsight shows us that they lost their momentum the very next election cycle, with the rise of the Tea Party insurgency. Now it wasn't that they knew the Right would rise against them; it was that they couldn't wait to start the machine.

Gaze back again to 1991. The worst calamity to the Left (the fall of Soviet Russia), plus the 1994 drubbing, set them back a generation. But back then, they were still led by old Leftists who learned one thing from their ideological sisters in Russia and China: patience. They fell back on their core groups - the unions, the teachers, the media - to reshape the battlefield and play the long game.

But that's not who's in charge now. The new Leftists are the product of the instant-gratification generation. They want it NOW, without the patience of their elders.

And that leads us to Odinga and the Chicago Way. Because the Chicago Way produces immediate results; it's in-your-face activism, perfect for a generation of snot-nosed rebellious youths who are conditioned to have everything on demand.

You see now how the rapid rise of the Left was facilitated, and you can also see the effects of this mindset. Not even 48 hours after the election returns, Odinga announces revisiting the UN gun grab. At almost the same hour, Feinstein out in Cali announces a proposal to ban ALL semi-automatic weapons, rifle and handgun alike. These are yet more examples of their haste. They can't resist jumping the starter's pistol in their race to start the machine.

It's as predictable as handing a SigSauer to a Crip: you KNOW the thug can't wait to use his new toy.

Folks, we can use our enemy's haste to our advantage. They are flushed with overconfidence, and that will be their tripping point. We simply need to adopt the trait that the old-school Marxists failed to instill in their progeny.

We need to be patient. We need to rebuild, watch... and prepare.

A Humble Prognostication

Economic catastrophe starting about 2015
We have only seen a whisper of this
Entrepreneurs cease to Build Businesses, Jobs disappear
Distribution Channels Collapse
Health Care drops to level of Frontier Medicine

Government responds by Killing Self Love
and replacing it with Fear

About 20,000,000 deaths in US alone
possible as much as 1/3 population
Widespread suffering, starvation, pestilence
Cities will be death traps

The only thing to prevent it was to
permit a lesser catastrophe
But the cards are dealt now

Be Kind One to Another
Tenderhearted, Forgiving One Another

Do Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly

Live in Christ

Two things:

1. I believe the polls were correct. I think there really was a huge turnout for Romney and it was blocked with fraud. We must get to the bottom of that first and foremost. The Allen West thing is a start.

2. The two biggest losers Tuesday were Joe Biden and Andrew Coumo. They will never be President. The democrat party will never again run a white male for president.

Scotland is voting to be independent of Britain. So why can't we have on our ballots for each state the right to vote for independence(secession)? Many of us in states voted for several amendments. Why can't we vote for independence?

I LIKE IT! If hundreds of thousands of freepers would contact their State Rep & Sentator and really talk about this, the middle America (fly-over) could get along REALLY WELL without east and west coast.

Very well thought out but extremely bleak, Laz. Thank God I reside in Texas, where, though we have more than our fair share of illegals, we still have an economy that is perking along...and a governor that won’t let the feds horn in on it if he can possibly prevent it. We have jobs and NO state income tax unless the dims take over here next cycle, which they keep hinting out in our local paper.

I find that politics are very distasteful to me after seeing the shenanigans that went on during this past election. I think I’m all about puppies and kittens from now on. :)

I don’t want my head to completely explode.

We, the elders, will suffer most from Bammy and Co. The young are being co-opted daily, with promises of Unicorns and free phones. The biggest threat to elders are the massive printing presses, making the dollar begin to swirl.

They started their goal with the "crazy money" SSI's and accelerated with their QE's. The US Treasury owes the US Treasury??? China isn't the biggest threat or problem, BUT, they could be part of a solution.

I have posted many pics from the Zimbabwe spiral, and that is where we are going.

Sell all you can sell, move to a fertile ground, and go Galt. Truckers could park their rigs, or just take care of local needs. Lower income and begin 'taking' in every way possible. Set up tax free's and let them expense the needs of the "community", while no longer "feeding the beast". You can't tax what you can't see!

Personally, I am planning to move to the Philippines after Christmas. I have begun divesting hard assets and will be happy to fish and play for the rest of my life. I have skills to offer, if needed, and can contribute in any community.

Laz, thanks for your thoughts. Once again, you have nailed our collective consciousness (and conscience!!!)!

I never gave them one damn cent this time. I sent a small contribution to a candidate that I supported till he got ousted by the one we ran with and that’s IT.

I think money (or the lack thereof) is the key to turning them. It’s what they understand. It’s ALL they understand.

I have read “The Book” and know how the story ends....the good guys win.

That is one ray of hope in this cold, dark world.

I agree with your plan, we need a 100 year plan, like the Chinese...a campaign plan with strategic objectives and shorter tactical goals and objectives.

Pray, Prepare, keep your head on a swivel.

You can wake up from this dream right now. Investigate voter fraud? My gawd, they won't even investigate what amounts to the deliberate abandonment of our people in Benghazi! Boehner (spit!) has already bent over and held out the vaseline jar ("This is your moment, Mr. President"). He's wagging his tail, lolling his tongue, just a happy little bitch waiting for his master's command. Investigate voter fraud? It is to laugh... and cry.

2. The two biggest losers Tuesday were Joe Biden and Andrew Coumo. They will never be President. The democrat party will never again run a white male for president.

You are right on that score.

I also believe there was an unprecedented level of voter fraud, and I believe that this marks the end of fair elections in America.

Four points, which will become its own essay, two of which were observed first by Travis McGee (hat tip)

  1. I do not believe the fraud was the creation of Democrat votes, though there were some there. I believe the fraud was the ELIMINATION of Republican votes.

  2. What informs me of this are several items: A) You cannot tell me Republicans turned out in LOWER numbers than they did in 2008. No way. Not with the energy surrounding Romney and Ryan. B) Obama was likely unaware of the machinations, and had a dour "I'm going to lose" expression on his face for most of the last 2 months of the election season.

In short, he did not build this win. Someone else made it happen.

  3. With the new fraud engine in place, we will NOT see a repeat of 2010. In fact, Obama's cronies will pick up quite a few seats in Congress and the Senate in 2014.

  4. Michelle Obama will run in 2016 and 2020 and win handily both times.
