U.S. Election--my report from Germany
If you're getting this mail from me, you may not be totally happy with the result of yesterday's election. Let me share what I experienced last night in Stuttgart, and this may be enlightening. Right now, we have more than four years of Obama's crew staring us in the face.
Last night, I spoke (in German) on behalf of Republicans Abroad at the (State Parliament) Landtag in Stuttgart's US Election Night Party. It was a 90 minute podium discussion. In the crowd there were 800 ppl (German 2/3 and American 1/3) there with 798 of them wearing Obama shirts or pins or anything Obama. **Earlier this week, a national poll of Germans found that over 90% supported Obama for re-election! (Can you imagine Americans being so over-concerned with another country's election? Unless of course it's Venezuela, Cuba or maybe Russia, Americans probably wouldn't even know it was going on!)
This was on live TV. When we started, the moderator from the local German tv station took a poll of who supported Obama and 798 hands shot up. Then who supported Romney, and my hand went up along with Col (R) Dave Beckner who was standing way in the back of the room (**note that none of the hundreds of young ppl who had seats offered the elderly gentleman a seat)........ So you know what I said when I grabbed the mic?....paraphrasing one great American general and with the confidence of George Patton, "looks like I'm surrounded...but that just simplifies the problem..."
When I said that, Dave Beckner who is about 85 yrs old gave me a youthful, steely eyed "300 Spartans" look of support, and it was "game on".
Then I proceeded to have a great and powerful debate on economics and policy for 1.5 hrs in front of a crowd of ppl who were so anti-anything non-democrat that they were steaming at the mere thought of a Republican in the room. I never felt so much concentrated fear, hate and anger projected at me. A witch on trial in the middle ages would have encountered no less anger, hate and fear. Yet they saw nothing but self confidence, and abundant powerful, logical discussion and explanations from my part....
During the debate, I gave no ground and continually introduced new ideas to the oppressed while shamelessly stealing much more speaking time than my opponent from Democrats Abroad who had a vast supply of canned data and technocrat propaganda which seemed to have been already committed to memory by the crowd. I did it all in a "non-angry" yet very self confident and assertive manner so as to cast my collective team--Republicans, Libertarians,Tea Party, Conservatives and all flavors of liberty loving men/women--- in a positive light which would hopefully resonate well in the German media which was present in the form of TV, radio and various newspapers.
I felt like I carried the very sword of democracy in the form of ideas and was the only free man/free thinker in that entire room (except for Dave). The Obamaites were the slaves, but not only slaves.....really , they were more like followers of a Jim Jones type cult. To most of them, my ideas and perspectives were shocking, outrageous, dangerous, offensive, risky and should have been banned from public distribution. It my ideas had been books, they would have burned them on the spot lest they should come into circulation. Seriously, this was the depth of their brainwashing.
The debate was not being rated as win/lose or draw but thankfully hosted by the German government as a "non-partisan" German-American friendship event. The goal of the event was to share ideas and give especially the Germans a better understanding of the political process in the US and the ideas of the parties. Especially of concern for the moderators was the difference between how the parties view the role of government vs individual freedom. I shared my ideas with them and probably many more than they could understand. Clearly, I could not understand my ideas for them due to their being fully programed to process only left wing approved thoughts.
Like I said, these ppl were totally brain washed, and I felt not like I was preaching the Bible to pagans but rather like a WWII soldier trying to de-nazify the German POWs (except that my crowd had not surrendered yet). Under no circumstances could these ppl have digested these dangerous concepts at one sitting.
During the night, I was still confident that Romney would win, and I had numerous interviews with the media. Each time, I advised the reporter that I am neither a political activist nor any sort of regular Republican party volunteer but rather a civic minded Republican Voter from a Swing state--and one who lives in Germany. I made it very clear to them that I stepped up to the plate to do my civic duty to provide a clear and balanced discussion of opinions for our friends the Germans to appreciate at this historic election night event. I also made it clear to each reporter that I know that the German press as a whole has continuously reported a 90% pro-Obama bias ever since 2007 when they first found out that such a person existed (and this was before he received the Nobel Prize for ?????). I told them that I expect them as members of the press to report to the German ppl an unbiased opinion----but of course they will not follow my instructions. Lastly, I told them that whoever should end up winning the election would have won by only the slightest of margins, and that they would have to live with the fact that nearly 50% of voters had voted against them--thus another instruction to the reporters to make this point clear--rather than declaring for example a "Clear OBAMA Landslide" .
I stayed on until 3:30AM when I had to leave to drive 3 hrs back to Frankfurt. At that time, the results were not yet clear, and I was damn glad to not have to go on camera ...just in case Romney would have lost. Oh yeah, by that time, I was of course the one and only Republican at the election night event. Today, many reporters called me for follow up statements, and I re-iterated what I said above as well as the hope that not only the winners of last night's election but all of the other Senators, Reps etc who are still in office will work together to represent all Americans and not just whichever party and lobby they represent.
I made it clear to the German reporters that their audiences need to realize that if Obama really is the equivalent of the Holy Trinity that many believe him to be---or at least a really effective politician, then he should be capable of accomplishing "good things" that the vast majority of American voters appreciate to be "good things" even in the face of Congressional opposition. I pointed out to them that the German press overwhelmingly praised Obama for all of his accomplishments at a time when he had full support in the House and Senate but suddenly shifted to blaming Bush, the Tea Party and the House when Obama had to deal with opposition after the 2010 election. It remains to be seen what they will report, but I can guess that they will report the same party line as before.
In case you want to know, my take home from Romney's loss, from the Republican failure to gain the Senate majority and from the erosion of the Republican majority in the House are: **I'm not going to comment on Romney's message, on money or the campaign but on other basic factors which impressed me last night**
1) That the Democrats clearly have a more effective team operating in the field. For example, my debate opponent from Democrats Abroad had been to many, many Democrat Party training events in DC and had a direct line to vast numbers of not only politicians but also access to an entire administrative support network at party headquarters. All during the night, he knew in real time from party HQ specific exit poll data for strategic zip codes and indicated that the local leaders were reacting in real time to rush in any potential reserves of voters who may not have already voted in those precincts. In other words, they have "troops" in the voting field with multiple levels of leaders and a powerful admin support. If need be, these "troops" will hand carry a voter in to secure the vote. 2) They have an incredible amount of specific data about not only their own constituents but about the demographics of their voters, potential voters, where they live, their occupations (note I didn't say work) , their affiliations (ie churches, unions, social clubs)---and how to get them to actually commit the act of voting. All of this on a house to house basis for strategic precincts. Here I don't mean general data like X% are in the union but specifics like which specific churches in Cleveland will help organize car pools to get voters in specific neighborhoods into the voting booth. Or making sure that specific local union offices are coordinating their efforts with other union halls, social clubs and church groups in specific areas to achieve a huge turnout in their precincts. Or what powerful local community leaders can be counted on to bring their flock into the voting booth. And all of it is gamed out well in advance of the election. In their world, they are very, very, very close to their voters and handle them directly just like their vision of the Nanny State handling citizens. The data is provided by their field operations and continually updated at all times---not only at election times. And furthermore, they seem to have a surprising amount of specific demographic data about Republican voters--or at least about strategic concentrations of them. On one level, this capability could be comparable to the depth of market data that a route salesman would be expected to know about his territory and customers. On another level, this deep capability covers at least all strategically important geographic areas and is strategically managed with the professionalism of military intelligence resources. 3) They have a very effective communications system which coordinates efforts of Nr 1 and Nr2 from the head of the snake all the way down to street level "troops". It works reliably and their team knows how to use it 4) SInce the 2000 election, I have been aware that their team routinely takes advantage of vast pro democrat sentiments overseas to gain a) fundraising from abroad through donations to groups like Democrats Abroad , b) foreign citizens who volunteer to operate programs like phone banks, websites, social media, mailings which can be managed from Europe for example but used to back up the election effort stateside, and c) large armies of energetic Europeans (ie students but also sometimes retirees) who take "vacations" to the USA during vote season and "volunteer" as free manpower to help field operations of democrats. To them, this is a fun way to experience the American Dream while helping achieve success for the candidate of their choice (always a democrat). How many are there? Probably many thousands--but there is no way to tell since they are not officially working. 5) When elections are coming up, the Democrats do not set up operations to win the election. The Democrats ALWAYS have their program running at some ongoing medium level and simply rev it up to speed during elections....but generally speaking, there is never a stop to campaigning and field work designed to maintain heavy voter levels. So bear in mind that today is not the end of an election where they pack up and go home until next time like Republicans do..The first thing they are going to do is to figure out how this election was won and start gaming out the next election. Seriously, they probably already have started figuring out how to win the 2016 election even if they aren't sure yet which candidates will be chosen for which jobs. In many ways, their operations work like the U.S. Army where there are many levels of leaders, deep bench strength of future leaders, mentoring, training and clear leadership development programs so that they will never be caught with their pants down and not have leaders who can take over wherever and whenever. This is not the case with the Republican party for sure. 6) Demographics are going against us, and the demographic groups that traditionally support democrats are growing while those who traditionally support republicans are shrinking. In other words, in future elections, it will be much harder to defeat democrats at the national level ----that is unless there is a way to convince these lucrative voter groups who support democrats right now that it is a better idea to support Republican candidates. Obviously this is a really serious issue which will cause huge debate.... But bear in mind that if Puerto Rico becomes a state, then there will immediately be two more senators and some more congressmen who will certainly voter with Obama's crew unless something else changes.
There are many, many more things going on, but these are my main take homes after a very disappointing, shocking and emotional election. We just went through five years of Obama (and I say five because I count 2008 since it was pretty clear back then that he would be the chosen one), and now we get a bonus of four more years. 9 years total--how much can a person endure--that's around 10% of a lifetime assuming one lives to be 90...... For me, points 1-6 are huge reasons why I say that the democrats have a more effective election winning machine. If those of us who belong to the ranks of any variation of Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians or Tea Party want to successfully throw off the chains of the sickening idea of the Democrats winning yet another election in the future, we are going to have to beat this machine. The best Republican candidate in the world with the best message would be hard pressed to beat this well oiled machine. Right now, the first chance for any relief will come in another two years, but for now Obama will confront us in TV, radio, iphones, internet and everywhere as our constant and annoying companion for the next four years.
If you read this far, thanks. For now we have to endure and be resilient. Maybe this information will be helpful.
This vanity deserves more prominence than it will get as a FR vanity. It needs to be published as a column in, at least, a conservative periodical.
Now we know how far and ingrained the liberal mental illness has spread. They used our educational systems and social media to program our children. I think awhile back Rupert Murdock said something to the effect that they own the children through online social media manipulation and that the can be controlled and influenced through it. I think he’s right.
We have to become them to defeat them. Yuck. They get people too stupid to vote of their own initiative to the polls.
Absolutely dead on anaysis of why the election was lost.
He’s right about the Germans liking hussein so much. A couple months ago, I was talking with a friend in Germany who said they thought he was a great leader and that W was such a cowboy. It sounded very msm soundbite and gave me a hinky feeling.
Not sure how to change that.
Thanks for posting this.
Points (1) - (6) need to be disseminated far and wide. The democrats have become very, very good at targeting only those specific areas where they need to have the votes to win. Republicans will often throw money at the problem, but won’t get into the gutter with the rats and don’t have the same level of grass roots organization.
Its an anti-christ thing, the world is falling in line and marching to a different tune...
I doubt that obama is the anti christ, he is too stupid without his teleprompter, but the world is so ripe for the plucking, that they will believe anyone evil enough.

Obama won by using propaganda that discouraged voter turnout among those dissatisfied with him

* Inside the Secret World of the Data Crunchers Who Helped Obama Win

That was a fascinating read. I guess the republicans don’t have the kind of election winning “machine” that the democrats do.
Absolutely correct. Look how fast that stupid Kony 2012 spread. Come to think of it that may ave been a test pilot.
My daughter's high school (50% Mormon BTW)--she said all the kids were repeated ad nauseum was that Romney hated women. I wondered how they got this message so strongly to the kids and now I realize it must have been social media.
Thanks, that’s the best part of this great essay.

"The Heart of The Beast" refers to a notion that an earthen mound is considered to be, and/or representative of, the mother of life. (You will get the point, by watching The 13th Warrior.)
Now, it is the mother of anti-Christianity.
Basically, the moral of a "transformative" story, is that the right thing to do, depends upon what a thing in nature tells you to do, be that your [The Heart of The Beast] puppeteers, or a rock, a tree, or a bird.
The transformation begins with cloaking followers in masks and headgear mimic'ing animals and wearing tree bark and natural foilage.
Soon enough, as electricity is outlawed "because it disturbs the earth," the buffalo hunt returns, as the resulting tribes forget PETA's TV ads.
The "experts" on the ecology who fined and imprisoned people for merely possessing eagle feathers, suddenly find themselves out of a job, as members of the new world order of tribes, GET WHAT THEY VOTED FOR (sound familiar?) and become once again, primitives *primarily* interested in any kind of food, clothing, and shelter. Fawning over whomever brings that to them, and killing whomever gets in their way.
Liberals call all this transformation, "going forward" or "moving forward."
