Did NOT see this coming. Every piece of news makes me more inclined to say “secession”.

Mia, I thought you were great :D

Sad, but she was up against an incumbent in there for over a decade. She should keep trying. Remember Newt Gingrich lost a couple races before he finally won a House seat around 1980.

The national democratic party ran ads non stop that were pure lies. It is a pretty shocking outcome in a state like Utah where most of us are Republicans. She would have been a STAR.

Matheson is such a faker. Votes with the Dems 75% of the time then comes home and runs his campaign like he is the most conservative Republican.

Will the media say that the voters of the 4th District are racist?

I recently heard Mia was double digits over Matheson in the polls. I didn't know there was this third party idiot in the race.

Mia didn't lose to Matheson because he was "an incumbent in there for over a decade"... she lost because of that stupid Libertarian, probably siphoning off votes from her. GRRR

Yes! WHY are there so many of these idiots around, causing good Republicans like Mia Love to lose important races??

Once again, the dope smokers help the Communist candidate win over an excellent conservative. It’s called the “turd in the punch bowl” effect.

Secede to where? How? Do you honestly believe you can fund a Federal form of government from the ground up? What do you do when this Federal government forcibly takes back their territory with Federal troops and they will. Do you kill other Americans? How do do you keep out undesirables? A fence? How do you provide for current retirees and their healthcare? Remember that when you secede, any and all Federal money flowing to your area stops immediately. No. Secession is not the answer. The answer is for every state to declare themselves a wholly constituted Republic and slowly over time sever dealings with the Federal government while at the same time setting up the infrastructure you need. May I suggest a modest 2% per year? In 50 years, without overly aggravating, burdening, and marginalizing your population, you can move toward the militarily and economically secure state you desire.

This totally sucks, I thought she had this in the bag and I was feeling the love for Mia Love. The Matheson name is still gold in Utah.

Matheson=Dennis Moore of Kansas, we may come close sometimes but never beat the sob. Even with a Mormon on the top of the ticket taking what I must assume be over 60% in the district. Stupid ticket splitting idiots. Almost no dem voters split there tickets. Who won in an Obama state? Heller, barley. Meanwhile rats won Senate races in MO, ND (too close to be legitimate), MT, WV, IN, and rats Matheson, Barrow and McIntre were reelected in Republican districts.

There are a few House races still uncalled. I believe we led in only one, Martha McSally was ahead in one of three razor thin AZ races. That would have been a sweet win of Giffords seat. Alas the rat Barber has pulled ahead in late counting SHOCK OF SHOCKS. Looks like they will control the AZ delagtion by 5 to 4 and the final House total will be 234-201. Lots of steals, like AZ and Allen West, what is up in St. Lucie county?

Cali went bad, Tony Strickland, and Bilbray and Lungren and to my surprise Mary Bono-Hack who easily won the primary with over 50% in a GOP leaning seat. I hope her and her fellow loser hubby enjoy retirement. So that’s minus 4 from that state if my math is right.

Few sweet wins to crow about.

>> Mary Bono-Hack who easily won the primary with over 50% in a GOP leaning seat. I hope her and her fellow loser hubby enjoy retirement. <<

On my "hope they enjoy their retirement and stay OUT of politics from now on" list:

1) Mary Bono-Mack
2) Connie Mack IV
3) Robert Dold "with a d"
4) Linda McMahon
5) Linda Lingle
6) John Raese (seriously, West VA GOP dominates Presidential elections but can't find ANYONE else after this guy has lost FOUR times?)
7) Charlie Bass
8) Richard Tisei
9) Angelo "Skip" Saviano
10) Donald Trump
11) Karl Rove
12) Dick Morris

George Allen and Tommy Thompson are good guys but their era of being in power has passed, IMO. And Adam Hasner may be a solid tea-party champion in Florida, but his attempt at breaking out on the national stage has been a huge bust.

I surely do NOT understand this.

Wasn’t it the GOP ESTABLISHMENT that told - no promised - us that if ‘we’ nominated Romney the Senate was all but guaranteed and the House would expand, BECAUSE the only person ALL R’s would support was Romney and THEY would carry the House and Senate - whether Romney won or not, and that was the important thing no matter who the P was.

Frankly, with the pResidential outcome as it was, that the R’s still control the House is a surprise to me.

“And Adam Hasner may be a solid tea-party champion in Florida, but his attempt at breaking out on the national stage has been a huge bust.”

To be fair, after being snubbed by the FL moneymen in the Senate race, Hasner was brave enough to switch to the FL-22 race in a district where he was pretty much the only Republican who conceivably could win, and he kept the final margin respectable despite Romney getting trounced in South Florida. I certainly would be willing to give Hasner another chance.
