I’m seeing tweets that state that the turnout in the Southern part of the state is so heavy that they may not have the votes tabulated until morning.

Barone was just on Fox News saying that a couple of FL counties show Romney not only outperforming McCain in 08, but Bush in 04.

I lived in Florida during the 2000 election, and Gore was way, way, way up and the media almost immediately called the state for him - while some in the panhandle (central time) were still voting. Bush won huge margins of the remaining votes and actually wound up winning by a razor-thin margin.

If the order is in the same way, Obama has to have a monstrous lead in the earlier returns to win Florida.

Rove and Jeb Bush reported from the bellweather counties, Henrico, Volusia. All very good. FL will be R.

The polls don’t close in GOP heavy panhandle for another 15min & long lines reported. Those in line @ close will get to vote so chill.

Florida looks fragile because three of the big Demo counties are in: Orange (Orlando); Palm Beach (again!) and Hillsborough (Tampa). They are having a disproportionate effect on the total state vote as yet counted.

I’m not from Florida but one question to ask is where the results are from.Southeast part of the state (heavily populated) Rat Party stronghold.Rest of the state, particularly the Panhandle (which is still voting),much more conservative.

That is only with 1.3 % of the vote in. Fox has an error there.

Remember 2000 when the media called it for Florida and the polls on the west side of the state hadn’t even closed yet? West side of Florida is on Central time. Cool out.

Panhandle still voting. This section will vote heavily for Romney so as long as he keeps it close elsewhere, nothing to be concerned about.
