New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was Mitt Romneys first choice as a running mate before Romney had a sudden change of heart and dumped him for Paul Ryan.
Christie was miffed by Romneys decision, particularly because he was led to believe in the weeks leading up to Ryans introduction that he would be joining Romney on the Republican presidential ticket, Politico reported, citing conversations with campaign insiders.

Christie is done.
He will have to flip over to the DNC for a future.
I think that he went around for two years talking about how he wasn’t ready to be President might have made for some good commercials.
Christie has been out across the U.S. since the end of the GOP convention actively campaigniong for Romney. In fact I have complianed that he was so busy buying future GOP out of state support that he had not spent enough time barnstorming his own state on behalf of our GOP congressional candidates. There was nothing officially happening in public showing Christie support for our GOP Senate candidate against the well heeled Lib Menendez, until really late in the campaign.
That said.
Right now Christie is back in his state and his behavior is consistent with both doing what he should do in a disaster situation and doing any PR during this period in a manner which benefits his own reelection in his Liberal-majority state. He has no love-fest going on with Obama. He does love his job and wants to keep it, or maybe try to unseat Lautenberg or his replacement (if Lautenberg retires) when Lautenberg’s U.S. Senate seat is up for reelction.
The daily mail is inventing a myth that will sell some newspapers, that’s all.
P.S. Full disclosure; though I live in New Jersey I am not a big Christie fan. I’m more Conservative than he is and he govern’s less Conservative than he could, than he could AND get reelected, in my view. To me, many of his “reforms” have been half measures, sold as if they are “bending the curve” more than they are.
Could not handle the crisis. Had an emotional breakdown. He is not a leader. Leaders rise up during a crisis.
I believe Chris Christie knew he wouldn’t get a dime from Obama’s FEMA unless he gave Obama what Obama wanted, a BIG PHOTO OP! He did right in my book!He also has to get elected next year to continue saving Jersey from the corruption and decay of another DEMORAT like Corzine or Menendez!
In addition, Christie will make an excellent Secretary of Defense or State!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree. Christie’s national aspirations are done. He is a narcissist.
Mitt’s a pretty good judge of character.
Will New Jersey Republicans Primary Christie? Get a real Conservative instead of a b.s.’er like Christie.
How sad. The fat slob kissed up to Hussein, and his state is still suffering from the incompetence of FEMA. He hitched his overloaded wagon to the wrong star...
This seems to be a plausible explanation for Christie’s stupid comments but I can think of one or two more innocent ones as well.If it’s true and Romney wins he’s not likely to pursue it in the interest of stability and calm. But if,by chance,Osama succeeds in stealing Ohio then Romney’s political career is over and,as a result,he may be willing to “out” Christie which would kill any ambitions of higher office...in *either* Party...that he might have.
Look at the photo while listening to THEIR LOVE SONG
I think he has trouble looking at people dead on. He seems detached from the people he is speaking with. IMHO,.
>> “and now we know why he kissed obozos azz. Tells you all you want to know about the man.” <<
.
I think we all pretty much knew it anyway.
Christie has few supporters here.
>> “How self-indulgent can you get?” <<
.
Yake a look at his waste line for your answer.
Freepers always get disgruntled and eat their own. It has hapened over and over and over.
