As the area around NYC disintegrates under the incompetence of Bloomberg and Obama, violence is increasing over gas, food, water, clothing, and shelter. The mayor of Yonkers has just issued an order rationing gasoline to 10 gallons per customer as thousands stand in line with gas cans, waiting to buy some.
Meanwhile, the NY Marathon has three huge generators comfortably running the tents and appliances set-up for the marathon next week. If the people running the Marathon weren't so selfish, they would postpone the the Marathon and donate these generators to help Staten Island and Yonkers. But they won't, because Libs running a PC marathon don't care about others' suffereing.
One of whom claimed that in 2008 he would start making the waters recede...
Markets work.

Gas lines a mile or more in Greenwich, Rye, Scarsdale, etc. Many stations without power, gas. ConEd trucks being sent to Manhatten. New Jersey refusing power company trucks from non-union states.
After Irene, It was a crew from Alabama that finally got our power back, after 8 days. And they said, You’re welcome, ma’am. People in Alabama are lucky! I’m in Westchester county, NY.
Bloomberg and Cuomo have police cars herding all incoming cars to NYC into single-line idling, so each car can be checked for 3 passengers. No wasting gas here. It’s difficult in spots around Westchester, and parts of Connecticut are a tangled, smashed mess, but situation is desperate in Staten Island, New Jersey, Long Island.
“...still have to get around...”
Our daughter (20,acting BFA major, Pace) walked yesterday from lower east side over the Brooklyn Bridge to Jay street to catch the R train to Bay Ridge because she is in rehearsal for a musical there that opens one week from today. (otherwise she would still be home with us in upper Hudson river valley). She is tough and absolutely doesn’t mind walking - I hope the electricity does come back on tomorrow night!! She is staying with friends who have power.
Stay safe!!
The west coast is next, i feel it in my guts...and sooner than we could ever be prepared for!
That should be the basis for revoking the "Disaster Area" status, because it's obviously not that great of a disaster.
There are tourist and travelers who have been trapped all week in New York City, yet they plan to run a Marathon ?
Same here in northern NJ with the lines; it is incredible, and even places that have power restored are not “back to normal” because of the gasoline shortage. Our governor said it was a power shortage (stations’ pumps wouldn’t work without power), but I think that was more applicable in south Jersey. Up here stations with power have been pumped dry...
on the bright side, we don’t have to worry about new episodes of The Real Housewives of NJ” anytime soon....
But personally, i’d like to see a dumpster smackdown among those “ladies”
:-)
It is the real life version of the make believe "this is what evil conservatives are like" proganda the left pumps out.
I’ve never seen “The Real Housewives of NJ”, but I’d imagine it does for NJ what “Jersey Shore” does for Italians.
in the 70s, when we had a car while living in Manhattan, and when we had the gas shortages, we would drive out the Lincoln Tunnel on Sunday morning, and go down to the first rest-stop heading south on the New Jersey Turnpike and fill up the gas tank
there were still lines, but they were nothing compared to the lines at the scarce gas stations in Manhattan
and besides, while we were at it we could do some shopping in New Jersey and not pay the New York City & state sales taxes
the trip was worth it every time, in spite of the toll to go back into Manhattan at the Lincoln Tunnel
