This will likely not be a popular opinion but I suspect many here are thinking the same thing and are probably keeping quiet because we are so close to the election and we all desperately want to be rid of Obama (If you doubt that I feel that way check out my posting history).
My two granddaughters surprised me the other day. They know Grandpa and Grammy are anybody but Obama “folks” and they know their other Grandparents are Obama supporters. So they get home from an overnight visit with their other Grandparents and start telling me about how they were running down Romney. The 13 year old then says she asked them why Obama didn’t send soldiers to Benghazi to save the Americans. About floored me because I didn’t talk about that with tem. But our side is Army so theyknow about the Nobody gets left behind credo.
The 11 year old then says that their other Grandma said that ROmney was against abortion for rpae victims. She answered with the following, “Well Grandma, killing babies is wrong and how would you feel if I killed your great granddaughter”.
Talk about a proud Grandpa. :-}
Are you saying that you want MR to take a stand on this even if that was to mean losing to O? (ref ’regardless the consequences’). If the choice were that simple few would go along.
You’re a bore, Sicko Flibs.
It will do Romney no good at all to bring it up unless he has evidence and can PROVE it. If a whistleblower comes to Romney, he’s all set. Otherwise, Obama will just sneer and make excuses, which would do Romney no good at all.
There’ll be plenty of excuses should Mitt, Lord forbid, lose next week. The first one will be Sandy, I bet, the second Benghazi.
From Grizzly Momma to Romney-care, without a blink.
If I was such a bore you wouldn’t be so attracted to sending me these love notes. But I appreciate it.
Lol. I’m unbothering already. Just a twitchy trigger finger. Triggerguards are for wuzzes :).
“I wouldn’t say that.. or else he would not have brought it up in the 2nd debate between him and Obama.”
There has been an avalanche of new and incredibly damning information that has come out since the second debate. So much additional info that if for whatever reason you didn’t think Benghazi was an issue before the 2nd debate, you would think it is a huge issue now. Hence, Romney needs to talk about it.
I'm not trying to be overconfident, but this is looking like 1980 did at the end. If we turn out, it's all over.

True, which is why his approach should be to simply ask questions, one of which should be: “The President said during the second debate that he issued a directive to secure our personnel. There have been some reports that the the ex-seals who were killed were denied requested backup. Who did the President issue this directive to? Did this person disobey the President’s directive? What was the actual sequence events that led up to the fact that there was no military support provided? I think the President could answer questions that relate to his own actions on the night of 9/11 right now and agree with me that the American people have a vested interest in understanding what went wrong in the chain of command that resulted in the the deaths of Americans at Benghazi”
I don’t think such a question could be easily manipulated by the media for political reasons. Let’s shine the light on these liars.
Take a few hours you might spend on FR and make signs to put in or on your car, e-mail links (esp. those not obviously anti-Obama) to every voter you know, on both sides, and ask them to forward the links (most won't but a few will, and that is all it takes. Or post links on Facebook or post on YouTube. This needs to go viral. There is more than enough information available, now, and we can do our part.
From another FReeper (not great res, but usable):
Maybe someone can make a better one. (That black background is a killer for some printers, and the "bandoned" should be larger.)
I think Mitt is doing the right thing, at this point, by allowing the story to come out on its own. There are things going on behind the scenes. New information is coming out bit by bit each day - and all of it makes Obama and his administration look bad, very bad.
I was fearful that the story would be buried, but I think it is beginning to break open into the media even though they are trying to put the skids on it. There are obviously patriotic Americans in the CIA, the State Department, and even in the White House who are leaking info. The WaPo, ABC, and CBS have finally (though tepidly) stuck their collective toes back into the story a bit.
Remember that scene in “The Untouchables” when Sean Connery’s character tells Ness during a stake out, “Don’t wait for it to happen. . . Don’t even want it to happen . . . Just watch what does happen.” That quote seems relevant to this story. Just watch what DOES happen. This story is simmering under the surface and isn’t going away. I may be wrong, but I don’t think so. Allow Romney to play this his way for now.
On the question above that I posed - go to Ohio, hold a press conference and wait for a reporter from the largest TV station in a market he needs to ask a question about Benghazi, then ask the question I posed in my last post.
Better yet, agree to a sit down interview with a friendly, high profile reporter for a TV station that covers the Philly suburbs and pose that question for Obama in response to the reporter’s Benghazi question.
re: “It is we who need to roar. Benghazi has at least cracked into CBS News, now we need to push in all directions, the next couple days.”
I agree with you Paul R, we can email, call, write to our congressional reps on this everyday. We can let them know that we are not going to forget this story - hold their feet to the fire.
I love your “Obandoned” poster - great!
The zinger line: “And I would hope the the President would agree that when four Americans, including an Ambassador, are killed in a terrorist attack, it would be vitally important to have as much information as possible about how and why it happened before we in fact elect the next Commander in Chief.”
