President Obama has maintained a five-point lead in the crucial swing state of Ohio, according to a new Quinnipiac University/CBS News/New York Times poll of likely voters. The survey found that Mitt Romney has gained ground in Florida and Virginia, where the race is now effectively tied.

Mr. Obama now leads Romney 50 percent to 45 percent among likely voters in Ohio - exactly where the race stood on Oct. 22. His lead in Florida, however, has shrunk from nine points in September to just one

Well at least we have an election in 6 days that will validate who's right and who's wrong.

I’d like to see what are the internals of this poll.

O up 5+ in OH? And he has small leads in FL and VA, which we know will go for Romney?

And this a a NYT/CBS poll, one of the worst out there.

I need a good joke this early in the morning.

So other polling outfits pull out of Florida and Virginia because Mitt has them sewn up, but these guys think Obama’s winning them.

Uh, ok...

I’ve been predicting this would happen. The Lames would concoct more fake polling to manufacture a Zero ‘comeback’ to try to fire up their base and snooker idiot undecideds.

Can’t find a link to the internals. Anyone have the internals??

Sandy’s flood waters must be making those QP pollsters up in CT delirious. Those numbers are not believable. Romney owns FL - Obama has all-but left the state because of it. Other two states also at odds w/ other major polls.

What do you expect of the NYT/CBS?

They are in the tank for the One. Let’s wait and see what Rasmussen and Gallup show when they come out today.

no way is my state leaning obama, I;m here and travel a lot and hardly ever come across any obama voters let alone any signs or stickers.

The media now only cares about an agenda, CNN has lost viewers, has beomce a joke and now a laughing stock and yet they still push their bias instead of doing their reporting and Crowley showed us all how she has no desire to do her job and CNN showed us after that how they supported her and how th emedia jumpd up when obama came up with his arrogant remark about ships and planes landing on them

It’s the NEW YORK TIMES and CBS.

Anyone here that even remotely gives this credence should be banned permanently from FR.

From a Jeffrey Lord article in the American Spectator:

A few weeks later, the Washington Post ran a story that confirmed Rollins’ initial beliefs. The Post confessed that… well… oops… it had made a mistake with those California polling numbers. Shortly afterward came the November election, with California once again giving Reagan a more than 16 point victory. In fact, Reagan carried 49 states, winning the greatest landslide victory in presidential history while losing Minnesota in — yes — a close race. Mondale had 49.72% to Reagan’s 49.54%, a difference of .18% that might have been changed by all that money that went into California. Making Reagan the first president in history to win all fifty states.

After the election, Ed Rollins ran into the Washington Post’s blunt-speaking editor Ben Bradlee and “harassed” Bradlee “about his paper’s lousy polling methodology.”

Bradlee’s “unrepentant” response?

“Tough sh…t, Rollins, I’m glad it cost you plenty. It’s my in-kind contribution to the Mondale campaign.”

Got that?

Presidential race just got tighter in election ground zero — Ohio
By Jonathan Easley - 10/29/12 06:06 PM ET

One week from Election Day, the presidential race has tightened dramatically in Ohio, which appears more likely than any other state to decide who will win the White House.

A Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday shows Mitt Romney overtaking President Obama in Ohio for the first time since May, with 50 percent support to Obama’s 48. This follows a Cincinnati Enquirer/Ohio News poll over the weekend that showed the candidates tied at 49 percent.

I thought so! They pad the D+ numbers to make Obama look good!

Bring those in line with Rasmussen and Gallup and you’ll see Romney is comfortably ahead in FL, VA, and OH. And MI is in play.

Even in the Democratic “wave” year of 2008, Democratic voter turnout was D+2. No way it is going to be +7 or +8. Not in the real world.

Throw this NYT/CBS poll in the wastebasket!

What can you expect when you start with an Obama donor list as your list of voters to poll? :-)
