Late season Hurricane Sandy churning poleward off the Eastern U.S. coast.
Sea Surface Temps
Buoy Data: Current Observations
Thought so, been reading some wxboards ‘round the ‘net and they are very worried about Sandy. 2012 sure is doing a number on FR and the world.....thoughts and prayers to all impacted/to be impacted....
What about that cold front that’s had rain to the west of the mid-atlantic states for the past couple of days?
Not saying you’re not correct, but it is an odd looking anomaly.
I know this is going to sound bizarre to some but if one believes in the power of prayer and the existance of good and evil, does one think that as we have become a nation of less prayer and there is an entire 2 billion people who pray to pervail against us...that perhaps this might be a cause for concern?
LOL!
Good point.
No, because God is in control and it is His will that prevails no matter what. It isn’t prayer in and of itself that is powerful. It’s prayer that is in alignment with God’s will.
PEPCO and other Mid Atlantic are determined not to be caught flat footed again after the Derecho fiasco when they caught hexx from the public and politicians.
Whatever happened to rinsing and filling milk bottles and soda bottles with tap water. I have six gallons all full and stashed away. Cost almost nothing.
Somebody has been reading too much Revelations!!
I just got woken up by the storm. Weather has been hitting us for well over 24 hours in tidewater VA. And we’ve got probably another days worth of this. Nasty bugger. Not dramatic, but it just keeps on coming.
Here in NE PA -
Has Sandy taken its “hard left” yet?
NOTHING happening here in NE PA.
Watching the Philly TV news - they don’t seem to be describing it in dire terms any more.
Now saying it’s “damp” out there now, and rainfall predictions moving lower.
They’re also moving the timeline later & of shorter duration.
Have a look at this, with thanks to whatever FReeper posted it earlier this morning:
Max. sustained winds just went fro 75 to 85mph with the national hurricane center 5am update. You can read it on the cone that Drudge is always linking:

Thanks.
Local (NE PA) now forecasting now 2-4 inches rain total (down from 4-8 forecasted yesterday) They’re moving the landfall prediction south & storm band narrowing.
Delaware & Southern PA forecasting predicting up to 8 inches rain.
Looking out from my porch - wind is kicking up a little now - gusty but not bad. Dry.
Ahhh... Thankfully I have found the “real” thread here! Thanks for your devotion to these incidents, NN! Was starting to get depressed reading some of the childish remarks on more recent ones tonight/this morning.
Reading through now. Prayers being said for all in harm’s way.
