President Obama: . . . And if we're not making investments in education and basic research, which is not something that the private sector is doing at a sufficient pace right now and has never done, then we will lose the (inaudible) in things like clean energy technology.

Actually it ISN’T staggering that anyone could vote for Obama. After all, 95% of the people who WILL vote for him couldn’t READ the sentence in question!
Amazing isn’t it?
Chill. We’ve all known for the past 4 years he’s an imbecile who reads everything thru a teleprompter. 3 more weeks and the kenyan klown is going down..
Let’s keep funneling money into higher tuition at Universities with billions of dollars of endowment funds and in public school systems where the teachers are submitting falsified test scores.
Obama supports a corruption culture of academia with YOUR tax dollars.
No, President Zero, the private sector doesn’t WASTE capital on destined-to-fail investments like Green Energy. If there’s money to be made, like let’s say with computers or that newfangled Internets, companies will pour R&D in.
It’s called capitalism, Obama, look it up.
Oh, yeah, righty right right.
/s, as if I needed to tellya.
(Sheesh!)
As I’ve said before Barack Obama is too stupid to be an idiot.
There are plenty of private companies involved in education and research. Mayo Foundation, Scripps Research Institute, Smith-Kettlewell Institute, Battel Foundation... I could go on all night.
for most of this country’s history, education and basic research was conducted entirely by the private sector. hospitals too.
idiot history revisionist marxist america-hating muslim.
You've got 150 million people looking at their tax bills while you say that, jackass.
This is jaw-dropping, staggeringly stupid beyond belief. Beyond the foundations and programs you named every single one of us taxpayers working in the private sector makes an ‘’investment in education’’ every time we pay local, state and federal taxes that in part go to school construction, teachers salaries etc.
obama’s a Marxist and sees the world through that ideology. Of course, he has a reflexive hatred of the private sector.
Has this d0uc#e manchild ever heard of Bill Gates? Or Steve Jobs? They didn’t build that...
Langley a product of high class snot nose education (Boston Latin School and Harvard University) tried to pioneer in aviation. He got $70,000 grants from the government for his research. Meanwhile the Wright Brothers were working on their own dime. I always love the PBS broadcasts that show Langley's bold attempts to launch a plane off a catapult in the Potomac River and watch it crash and sink like a rock. Meanwhile, the Wright Brothers using good old fashion American pragmatism with no help from the government got to fly. If you were born in Kenya, you probably wouldn't know this history. For those unfamiliar with Langley, here is a link.

Never forget that half the people in this country have an IQ less than 100, by definition.
Explains a lot...
The public sector should withhold all contributions for one week, just to show what happens to all sorts of businesses and organizations.
