The blow-by-blow of the killing of Ambassador Stevens.
Diplomatic Security special agent David Ubben waits silently, his M-4 assault rifle at the ready as he hides deep in the dark inside the villa that serves as the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Ubbens assignment is close protection for U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, which isnt always easy. Stevens, a former Peace Corps volunteer, likes to get out among the people in the countries where he serves, especially Libya, which he helped to liberate from Muammar Gaddafi during the war last year. But even he has started to believe that al Qaeda is gunning for him, and on this day, the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States, Stevens has let himself be persuaded to hold all his meetings behind the nine-foot walls and the coils of concertina wire that surround the Benghazi consulate.
That hasnt been enough. Now groups of armed men swarm through the compound, firing their AK-47s in staccato bursts, and every so often the air shakes with the concussion of a grenade. Behind Ubben, in a specially fortified suite called a safe haven, the ambassador and another diplomat, Sean Smith, should be well protected. There is a large closet, similar to a panic room, with supplies of water and food to withstand a siege of hours or even days, and Ubben has radioed the four other American security men holed up in other consulate buildings that he and the ambassador and Smith are OK. This is what the safe haven and the safe room have been built for. And he is there with his M-4 at the ready. He will make sure nobody gets through the steel grilles that protect them.

This is a MUST-READ article on what happened in the attack in Benghazi, Libya. I am surprised nobody in the media has linked to this Newsweek expose article.
The State Department was monitoring the situation live via phone and a UAV flying overhead, but did NOTHING. In fact, President Obama was meeting with National Security Adviser Thomas Donilon, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Martin Dempsey, similar to how they gathered for the killing of Osama Bin Laden. My guess is that the President and his staff were either watching the live UAV feed or were listening in on the live audio. Obama and his National Security team knew immediately that this was a terrorist attack and lied to cover it up. Four people died and Obama lied!
There’s been so much BS,how do we know it’s true?
This should give every American the chills, both for what happened to those men but also for 0dumbo’s lying and lying.
This article is written from a very left leaning outlet and even as they try to minimize 0dumbo’s guilt the facts as they report them make it quite clear what happened
and is still happening
thanks for posting
THEREFORE: Obama should immediately be arrested for Dereliction of DUTY.
What is true is that our ambassador is dead along with 3 other Americans.
It is like there is a cop killer on the loose in a certain city and the mayor and police cheif jet off to Vegas and blame their political opponant on the murders.
Think of this, what other country would not respond to the planned murder of any of their ambassadors?
Mgist,
How do you know anything you read is true? By cross-checking the story against other stories and by matching specific details inside the story you are reading to previous stories.
So in this particular story on Benghazi, it says that
“At the consulate, smoke in the burning villa was thinning out; crowds of curiosity seekers and looters were moving in. As they rummaged through the building, they came across a blond man in a white shirt and gray pants, his nose and mouth blackened by soot and body fluids. They dragged him out through the window at the back of the villa. The man is alive, shouted someone in the crowd. Move out of the way. Then several other men shouted: Alive! Alive! God is great. But when the man was taken to the hospital, the doctors couldnt revive him. And finally, at 2:30 in the morning, someone identified him positively as Ambassador Stevens.”
This matches the first reports that we lost track of the location of Ambassador Stevens. This also matches a picture I saw of Ambassador Stevens body being dragged around.
First, I think it’s interesting that the article says terrorists came in with cans full of diesel. The terrorists didn’t come in, do a search, see the locked gate and then go get cans of diesel. They came in with cans of diesel. Somebody should see if there were any diesel cars or equipment at the consulate.
Why would Obama decide to not send military aircraft to Benghazi? I think it goes to the Democrat frame of mind. To them, nothing is more important than winning elections. The Democrats think that Jimmy Carter lost the 1980 Presidential election because of the failed Iranian hostage rescue attempt. That gave us 12 years of Republican Presidents. Obama, Hillary and the Democrats could not risk another failed hostage attempt. They could not risk another 12 years of Republican Presidents, so they left those people without military support and started concocting lies to cover up a cowardly political decision.
A US Embassy or Consulate is considered to be US property. The foreign police are not allowed to set foot inside a US embassy, which is why people climb over US embassy walls to try to escape.
So this terrorist attack in Benghazi, where 4 people died, is considered an attack on the US, like the attack in NYC on 9/11/01 or Pearl Harbor. The US was attacked by terrorists and Obama did nothing and LIED about it.
bttt
We were told that Stevens was going to the site to rescue colleagues, from another site: we were told that he was sexually molested: we were told that Stevens was in a vehicle at the time he was apprehended, then showed video of them finding his body; we were told that he was dragged through the streets before being taken to the hospital: we were told that demonstrations turned violent after they watched a video that none had seen at that time, etc. Later we find out that Stevens was running arms for the Libyan rebels and other groups in the ME. We were also told that he was there tracking the movement of WMDs, etc. We’ve been told that the seals were there to protect Stevens, then told they were there on another mission, altogether. Will we ever really know the truth?
Well, seeing Newsweek in the link, and then at the end they take out of the full context about what Obama talking about No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, during his speech in the Rose Garden talking about 9-11-2001, just like Candy Crowley CNN Debate moderator, not mentioning Obama going on about the movie trailer.
Zer0 is obsessed with the destruction of this nation as we know it and needs a second term to finish the job.
“They could not risk another 12 years of Republican Presidents, so they left those people without military support and started concocting lies to cover up a cowardly political decision.”
Precisely. As I recall, Valerie Jarrett convinced Obama to call off missions to kill Bin Laden on three occasions before he finally allowed the Seals to do their job. Over Jarrett’s objection. Jarrett was worried that if the mission went wrong, it would hurt Obama’s chances for re-election. In Bengahzi, Jarrett decided that it was politically safer to just limit the damage to whomever was left in the consulate, than commit forces and weaponry to save them. Then, as was said above, start lying about it, and count on the mainstream media to provide full cover.
The problem: He entered into a deal with the devil and the animals he contracted with know no bounds for their blood lust and hatred of Americans. Thus they could not help but murder these people and desecrate their remains as a message to their great satan.
I could be totally wrong...but I don't think so. Just like Fast and Furious, this administration could f*** up a free lunch.
The concluding paragraphs are pure Obama ass-kissing BS. Disgusting. No wonder Newsweek is going out of business.
"Just one day after Obamas speech in front of the Pentagon, he stood in the Rose Garden at the White House. No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, he said. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.
They didn't mention the context of Obama's Rose Garden remarks and "acts of terror." Here is what Obama said in the Rose Garden.
THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Every day, all across the world, American diplomats and civilians work tirelessly to advance the interests and values of our nation. Often, they are away from their families. Sometimes, they brave great danger.
Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers.
The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I've also directed my administration to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.
Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.
Already, many Libyans have joined us in doing so, and this attack will not break the bonds between the United States and Libya. Libyan security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans. Libyans helped some of our diplomats find safety, and they carried Ambassador Stevenss body to the hospital, where we tragically learned that he had died.
It's especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save. At the height of the Libyan revolution, Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi. With characteristic skill, courage, and resolve, he built partnerships with Libyan revolutionaries, and helped them as they planned to build a new Libya. When the Qaddafi regime came to an end, Chris was there to serve as our ambassador to the new Libya, and he worked tirelessly to support this young democracy, and I think both Secretary Clinton and I relied deeply on his knowledge of the situation on the ground there. He was a role model to all who worked with him and to the young diplomats who aspire to walk in his footsteps.
Along with his colleagues, Chris died in a country that is still striving to emerge from the recent experience of war. Today, the loss of these four Americans is fresh, but our memories of them linger on. I have no doubt that their legacy will live on through the work that they did far from our shores and in the hearts of those who love them back home.
Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day. I visited the graves of troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hallowed grounds of Arlington Cemetery, and had the opportunity to say thank you and visit some of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed. And then last night, we learned the news of this attack in Benghazi.
As Americans, let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases, lay down their lives for it. Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe.
No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.
But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers. These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. They should give every American great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our flag represents to people around the globe who also yearn to live in freedom and with dignity.
We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory, and let us continue their work of seeking a stronger America and a better world for all of our children.
Thank you. May God bless the memory of those we lost and may God bless the United States of America.
It is obvious from the video and photos the good Samaritans that dragged the Amb from the rubble were trying to help him. They even pulled his pants off so they could give him proper CPR. >/s
This is ‘as reported’ by state. It doesn’t seem to be all there...only what they want us to think we know...put together in a story they think we will believe so we drop it.
