Romney faces big risk if he returns to Libya scandal at final debate (juan williams)
Foxnews ^ | October 19, 2012 | Juan Williams

Posted on 10/20/2012 7:53:05 PM PDT by chessplayer

Will last Tuesday’s big debate moment become Monday night’s big debate topic? Tuesday’s moment came when the candidates focused on the recent attack that killed the US ambassador to Libya and three others. As the Wall Street Journal’s conservative editorial page wrote: It was Mitt Romney’s “weakest moment.” Now as the campaigns ready for the foreign policy debate, to be held Monday in Florida, the question is whether Romney returns to the question of Libya. Political insiders in both parties say no. They are predicting the argument will shift to the questions about the president’s handling of sanctions to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons and the administration’s testy relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Even US relationships with Russia and China could get more time. So if Romney chooses to go back to the topic of Libya he is taking a big risk. It again could prove to be a blind alley where he gets mugged a second time. Meanwhile both sides fear any factual slip or glaring lack of knowledge in this last debate before the election. That fear is large in the Romney camp as they prepare a candidate with no foreign policy experience.

NPR knew that he is raciest and fired him on the spot, FOX should do the same, the guy is openly raciest and positively the most stupid person on cable TV that includes MSNBC Chris Matthews.

So Juan ? in case you have forgotten this debate is about... FOREIGN POLICY !
How about that ? what a novel idea.

What Juan ? Would you rather have Romney talk about winning the butter beans contest at the county fair ?

translation: Juan hopes like hell Romney don’t mention Libya.

No more calls, folks, we have a winner.

Four dead Americans, a completely incompetent chain of command, a missing commander-in-chief, an entire team of State Department and CIA observers watching real-time, a murky mission that may involve yet more incompetence, a straw-man cover story involving a nonexistent movie, a denial of the cover story, a denial of the denial; no, Romney sure better not mention all that. It would make Romney look bad.

I seem to recall our CJCS General Dempsey chiming in by calling Terry Jones on the phone over this video, while it was being blamed for the murder before 0bama's people declared that it had never been blamed. Here we have the DoD disgracing itself as well to help sell the snake oil. Is there no part of this federal government 0bama's people haven't ruined?

I know that Juan is a good friend of Bill Kristol, Fred Barnes and Stephen Hayes...and that’s good enough for me. He’s misguided...but not a bad spirit.

I know. Such a shame. He’s been George-Romneyed.

Romney should pound Obama on Benghazi and Fort Hood. He should directly ask this poseur why the Fort Hood attack was not designated a terrorist attack and why O ordered Rice to lie on the SUnday shows. He should then ask Obama where he gets the authority to murder 16 year old American citizens with drones when the 16 year old is not wanted for anything. And if I was asking the questions I’d add “bitch” at the end of each one.

The Benghazi Cover Up is Obama’s Pearl Harbor.

Obama was caught unprepared while the enemy struck with overwhelming force.

That was the end of Obama’s Foreign Policy.

Now Obama can only blame himself and his Foreign Policy of Following (= leading from behind).

His solution has been to cower behind TV Talk SHow hosts in New York City, and do his best to cover up the truth.

Failure leaves tracks, and this time it leads to Obama and his empty chair at the White House.

BTW, maybe Obama will share his sorry 2009 Nobel Peace Price with Juan Williams on each 9 - 11 anniversary?

Still on the PBS payroll, Juan? Most of us here could rip the Kenyan a new one on Libya without any further preparation.

Romney has the advantage of more in depth knowledge, some professional prepping, and the TRUTH on his side.

Why don't you and Whorealdo go play patty-cake together and leave the serious business to the adults.

Ben Stein is a Democrat whose father did enormous damage to the country as an Economist for Nixon. Couldn't possibly care less what he has to say about anything. I do wish pundits would stop referring to him as a "conservative." He isn't one. He's a Nixon Republican and that means he is a duplicitous, opportunist liberal.

Krauthammer didn't say Romney had his weakest moment of the debate at that point because he was wrong; he said he had his weakest moment of the debate because he didn't press his advantage on a topic he thoroughly owned.

Juan "Brain Cell" Williams is a completely worthless fool who is used by Fox News Channel to make very weak conservatives like Sean Hannity and a few others look good. Take a look at what happens when Juan "Brain Cell" Williams goes up against a real, eloquent conservative: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/real-journalists-are-apologists-for-corrupt-ocracy-michelle-malkin-takes-on-juan-williams-in-tense-segment/

Those who wish us ill are not our friends. Williams is trying to keep his idol from having his ass handed to him. 0bama is even more vulnerable on foreign policy than he was on domestic issues. Neither bad advice nor bad moderators can save him.

This falls under the “Never take advice from your enemy” category.

But won’t the moderator be asking him questions about it.

The moderator is another lib. The best thing he could do to help obama (aside from collaborating with obama to set another trap) would be to avoid Libya altogether.

BINGO !!

Eggggactly.... they want it to be a affirmative action Foreign Policy debate where a bad record is not held accountable or difficult questions are not asked...

They are shaking in their boots and hoping that Romney does not talk about Benghazi.

Mitt’s handled his campaign well for many months including this month. America finally saw him during debate #1; and, as the other part of a big two-fer, we all saw Obambi for what he is, ABSOLUTE ZERO!

And this is what Romney should keep front and center during the whole debate...
At least they are letting Romney and his team know where his weak points are... as if all us needed to be a rocket scientist to figure this out.

If it really was a risk, Juan would tell Romney to push Obama on Libya.

The funny thing is...I always liked George Romney. Liked his ideas...liked his way of management.

But then, I am a business guy.

There is no guarantee obama and the moderator aren't collaborating and setting another trap for Romney on Monday.

So Romney should just shut up and let the One talk while the "moderator" serves him up softballs, right? After all, ANY topic could be a trap!!

Moronic. A leader doesn't sit back and quiver in fear because the unscrupulous might do something unscrupulous. You bring the truth, you bring good ideas, and you bring a solid vision that Americans want and agree with. What happened in Benghazi is the Truth, and it is a Truth that many Americans want to know about. There is Zero reason to avoid this topic, no matter how the MSM spins it.

What about Mitt doing it because its the right thing to do. It seems like Mr Obama could have put this behind him if he would have said, islamic radicals, in a coordinated attack killed out Libyan ambassador and 3 others last night. I promise the American people that I will not rest until those who conducted this attack are punished. But he chose to lie, coverup, run interference. If Mr Obama tells Mitt that he is offended again, Mitt should reply the he (obama) is offensive! Going on a fund raising trip was offensive, traveling to Denver was offensive. Standing with Hillary and telling grieving families that it was a You Tube Video was offensive, tellling the UN that it was a movie was Offensive. And telling Telemundo, the View, Letterman, and the American people it was a video was offensive. Ignoring a message a few hours before the attack from the ambassador was offensive. However the truth is never offensive. Win or lose Mr Romney, the truth is the best path. Damn the election, the only justice these men will ever receive will be when the Islamic terrorists are dead, and every member of this administration who did not do their job is fired and charged with a crime.

Juan is just talking smack for his boy 0zero. Romney dominated and humiliated 0zero at the Al Smith dinner>>> This will resonate and carry over into Monday night’s debate. Mitt Romney will bob and weave around any interference Bob Scheifer tries to run

It is obvious by now that going pure one on one 0zero will always come up short. If he had his Svengali David Axelrod up there and his teleprompter....Then he would have an even chance of beating Mitt Romney

Nice try Juan, but this will almost assuredly be Bob Scheiffer’s first question even thought he is Candy Crowley’s male surrogate.

I doubt it. I actually think this debate is going to be boring. Neither one of them is going to risk making a big blunder, so they will play it safe and give just safe, generic answers to questions.
