In the aftermath of the Embassy attack there has been a move to turn Stevens into some sort of Sainted Martyr.

In reality, he was an Arabist and an Milddle East Nativist who internalized much of the mind set of the Radical Arab world. He was a supporter of the PLO and maintained close connections dn ties to Middle East radical groups.

For this reason he was chosen as liaison and adviser to the Muslim opposition militias in Libya.

He took sides in the Libyan Civil War and help defeat and eliminate members of opposition groups that Clinton and Obama were not in favor of.

He made a lot of nnemies and while he may have been close personally to many individuals in high places in the Islamist militias, at the end of the day he was still the man who was the face of the Great Satan in the region.

He was also a useful idiot who had been insrumental to the Muslim Brotherhood gaining power in Libya, but in his new position he was becoming an obstacle to those who he had put in power using Libya as a spring board to further Jihad.

Further, check Steven’s bio-—in the past two decades he’s done duty in nearly every Casbah in the Middle East. His story reads like a single guy who got way too chummy with the natives-——what could go wrong?

He wasn’t of your political philosophy and so he deserved to die, and we shouldn’t hold an arms-to-AlQaeda deal (and blatant cover-ups and lies to the American people) against the President? And we should overlook AlQaeda attack on US soil (Consulates are US property). Moronic post. His affiliations are irrelevant. The Presidents crimes, and the loss of US personnel (most especially the two SEAL heroes who came to their rescue), deserve our outrage.

I was watching something last night that included an interview with someone who seemed to know Stevens well. (May have been the Bret Baer special).

When asked if Stevens knew the dangers of being there, he replied, “He knew, but he believed in the mission.” (paraphrased)
