Hot Air was good for me during the VP’s
pre-debate hotel ?
Yeah, Obama won. And it hasn’t even started yet!
I’m hoping that Romney comes out of this debate just holding his own. Since Obama was so miserable in the first debate, he will probably pick up a couple of points with even a mediocre performance.
I am looking for Romney to really shine, though, in the last debate on foreign policy.
Hey Onyx, long time. My nerves are shot. Need a pep talk. Can’t help but think that this is make or break time.
That is just too Funny! They both look so wrong
friend in Sanford felt it pretty good and said it really scared her cat!
Check with John about the DB schema before you try that. Depending on how it is organized, more threads may make it worse.
If it is a lock contention problem, then you need to look deeper into the database performance statistics, and especially the I/O (reads/sec and writes/sec) on the database device.
If it is indeed I/O contention, one thing that would help a great deal is:
[imagine Keanu/Neo's voice]
RAM. Lots of RAM.
If the database isn't using it, the O/S will use it for file caching. Any I/O operation that is avoided will be performed much faster -- as in orders of magnitude.
It isn't unusually for me to see database servers with 64GB of RAM. It makes a huge difference.
Would putting the Freepathon on hold for a short while help a tad?
(I don’t like asking this question)
'08? ;)
Classic...Classic...Thanks!
I’m about 15 minutes from there too
behave
Well, gonna try to watch the debate here! Prolly no luck though! Hey, young lady!!!
Crowley and CNN have also preselected the people from the audience that get to ask questions.
Yep, I knew I really wouldn’t be able to tolerate the Obama-Romney debates. But I did expect the Ryan-Biden one to be well worth catching. However, after a few short minutes of that jackass Biden, I just had to turn it off. Literally finding I can’t stomach any of that crap anymore. And it goes double for all the news-punditry that follows. The more I see of it, from the slickster politician spin-meisters to the snotty media talking-head elites, the more hatred I feel towards them all, along with the whole current culture and state of affairs.
It doesn't have any effect on the FR servers. Those are loaded from the source, either the original one or wherever the poster uploaded them.
Your page rendering might be delayed a bit if you have a slow connection to the Internet. But, the part from FR is only a few lines of text.
