Sorry. I think it’s a TERRIBLE ad. Besides being too slow and a single quote from Reagan, it could run as a public service announcement. Ad for WHAT—increased veterans’ benefits? It looks like something from the old Kerry group, as if the military were nothing more than another labor union.

Wow! Thanks for that.

The Administration is shoveling the shiite as quickly as they can.

Deny all charges!

So I take it you’re not a patriot! The idea that Kerry is anywhere near this is nonsense. You might be better off over at DU! The quality of the thinking here on FR sure isn’t what it used to be. I guess we have too many infiltrators.

I certainly didn’t mean to imply that Kerry was behind this ad. What I meant was that Kerry (and rats in general) never failed to tout an opportunity to increase government spending, the most appealing of which is what we owe to returning combat soldiers—many of whom have been sent on fools’ errands by democrats. Think Bosnia, Mogadishu, the Afghanistan-announced early withdrawal. Their solution is to increase benefits after deployment rather than to weigh success-options BEFORE deployment. Any decent GOP ad would emphasize the importance of deployment ONLY in U. S. vital interests and ONLY in circumstances where victory is possible because U. S. troops are too precious to waste.

Good grief—OF COURSE we should be taking care of returned troops. What idiot would dispute that? So what’s the point of the ad?
