As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney. "Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday.

I agree it is probably a ruse. Romney spent countless previous debate minutes defending Bain. He can counter that pointless charge in his sleep.
wow attacking Romney for making jobs ...thats good
Romney: “even though the events the POTUS is trying to blame me for happened after I no longer called the shots, the President’s policies are directly responsible for the death of four Americans and all he can do is just blame anything and anyone else. The future does not belong to those who blame others.”
It would not serve Obama to be like Biden at a townhall style debate, because most of the questions are coming from the audience and if you ask a question I assume you want both men to answer and not one answer then constantly interrupt the other. It’s not a good look. You have to be assertive without being as asshole.
"I'll be great in this outfit----praise Allah we dumped
the debate advisor who told me to be 'polite' to Romney."
You know I always wonder if there is some kind of under the table agreement among POTUS debaters on what is off limits.
Oh, please bring up Bain Capital.

I don’t think that it will ever come to having Candy LET Romney talk.
He will take command of the debate immediately and call her out, in a very gentlemanly way, when she tries to cut him off, or doesn’t allow him to finish his response.
Ryan, on the other hand let Joe be Joe in all of his glory, and showed America who should be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
America wants to see a take charge guy, not someone who bows and is ineffectual.Romney knows this and will deliver.
Thanks Blue Turtle. And Romney will be ready. Reagan’s approach in one of his quite successful debates (I think it was against Mondale, a.k.a. Carter Junior) was to quietly and consistently attack in earlier debates, and (as George Will wrote at the time) “pummel with niceness” in the final debate.
Zero looked and acted awful, because he had no prompter, no crib notes, nothin’. And he got pantsed on live TV. He’ll be even worse this time around, talking out of his ass, repeating earlier slanders and libels, and get his ass handed to him. Afterward his poll numbers will slip further.
Far from “looting,” this is a vital contribution to capitalism and corporate governance. One of the persistent gripes of the left is that too many CEOs make too much money even as their companies flounder. Private-equity firms target such companies or subsidiaries, replace their management, and try to unlock the underlying value in the enterprise.
Private equity helps to promote dynamic capitalism that creates wealth, rather than dinosaur capitalism of the kind that prevails in Europe and futilely tries to prevent failure. Sometimes this means closing parts of the company and laying off employees, but the overriding goal is to create value, not destroy it.
The braindead Ohoho team has already spent $300 million on ads attacking Romney/Bain.
This massive expenditure led to Romney skyrocketing in the polls while Ohaha collapsed and now leads in less than ten states----and subtracting.
Bain is a very successful company. I say bring it!
Right now, I think the Obama camp is working Libyan damage control more than this debate. We will see.
I'm almost convinced that Obama's questions will TOTALLY ignore Libya.
I believe the moderator actually selects the questioneers and therefore the questions.
Nothing is random.
Using Martha was a joke and Biden was a Joker...
I agree. The Democrats aren't going to tip their hand about anything. Do they really think this "leak" about focusing on Bain will throw Romney off his game? Obama is getting more desperate by the day.
I hope he attacks on Bain. Gov. Romney’s time at Bain is a one of the primary reasons folks should vote for him.
If the Obama camp has tipped its hand, beware of a head fake.
How will Obama be able to inject Bain Capital into Tuesday’s debate?
Here’s the official Second Presidential Debate format:
‘’The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.’’
Unless one of the ‘’undecided voters’’ is such an obvious Obama supporter that he doesn’t mind embarrassing himself in front of the entire world by bringing up the anti-Romney issue of Bain Capital during a debate that’s supposed to be devoted to U.S. foreign and domestic policy, Bain Capital will not be mentioned during the debate, although if it is, it will be greeted with groans and laughter from most of the people in the audience and those watching at home.
Moerator: "Governor Romney, isn't it true that you personally benefitted from Bain Capital's outsourcing of jobs to China?"
MR: "Yes, but nobody had to be raped and killed like Ambassador Stevens was when this administration outsourced his security to the Libyans."
