The Obama campaign released a new ad this morning in which we’re treated to an epical presentation of President Obama’s hard-fought achievements — because nothing says “historic” like a classic Morgan Freeman narration.

"Every president inherits challenges. Few have faced so many. Four years later, our enemies have been brought to justice. Our heroes are coming home. Assembly lines are humming again. There are still challenges to meet, children to educate, a middle class to rebuild — but the last thing we should do is turn back now."

Here are some: Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and G.W. Bush. There are others, I know. Obama is is own biggest challange. His own biggest problem.

I can’t think of a too many presidents that have faced so few challenges.

Bush was given no quarter. He came in during a recession, was hit with 9/11, was hit with the financial melt down and they still trash him mercilessly. Scr*w this ad. Obama has had it devastatingly EASY.

That is what leaders do ... face a challenge and move things forward. He is not a leader. He is a “reactor” - reacts to things rather than set a course and lead.

Challenging times do not create leaders, it reveals them.
