Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan were the two candidates on stage at Thursdays vice presidential debate, but a third character emerged: Joe Bidens laugh, which didnt escape the notice of tweeting politicos. (And led, of course, to at least three satirical Twitter accounts: Laughing Joe Biden, Biden Smirk, and yet another Laughing Joe Biden.)
Weekly Standards Mark Hemingway: Joe Bidens laughing through talking about Iran sanctions?
TIMEs Michael Scherer: Not sure debate cameras have been light tested for Bidens teeth. Best to watch with sunglasses.
Washington Examiners Philip Klein: Bidens strategy seems to be to laugh at Ryan constantly. Will it work to infantalize Ryan, or backfire like Gore sighing?

Hyena was the thought that crossed my mind while Joe smirked at serious discussion....
I feel like I just spent a very, very, very long Christmas dinner with a drunken, obnoxious, “know it all” uncle.
“Chuckles”, the VP ...
I couldn’t help thinking “Citizen Kane” when Biden was acting like that. He seemed to think the whole thing was a lark. Juvenile was another word I’d use for Biden’s behavior.
So who is the Democrat chief advisor on ways to debate? That person is not doing them any good.
Plugs probably ought to check in for a fourth bout of brain surgery after this ~ the first three certainly didn't work.
Check the comments on Politico. Not good for Biden. He even lost the readers at Politico!
Nobody likes an A$$H*LE Clown
Biden’s near constant interruptions and grimaced laughing made him out to be a true Ass Clown.
Now 70 million viewers got a chance to directly compare this glittering buffoon to the polished and professional leader sitting next to him.
Biden was worse than Gore - remember Gore rolling his eyes and sighing all the time? This was equally insulting.
I think Biden idea on big issues is to just laugh them off.
so Biden maximizing his obnoxious standard self, and the moderator excercising her bias did the job they were suppose to do (a)insult Ryan and (b)as often as possible keep Ryan from finishing/completing his competent answers - which they seemed to succeed at
and (c) try to turn Ryan into the mean person the Dims want to portray him as - but at least that part didn’t work
I hope enough undedecided people realize that Biden was working to Keep it from becoming an actual serious debate.
Not even Chris Wallace, and he ought to know one when he sees one.
When you lose apologists like Wallace, you’re in deep doodoo.

Excellent! This should go viral as the new nickname for the lying, old goat. I knew he was arrogant, ignorant, and rude, but he outdid himself tonight. I could hardly stand to watch.
However, I do think Ryan could have done better. For one thing, he should have asked that ditzy moderator and Joe why letting people keep their own money is a “cost”.
Frank Lund’s focus group is very interesting. ALL of the women disliked Biden.
The debate reminded me of the class clown mocking the math genius. Biden was joking while Ryan was too numbers oriented. Night and Day but Ryan won.
Debate? What debate? I want my rebate from the Obamaphone.
“My friend...”
“My friend...”
“My friend...”
Hey Joe, go blow. No one is buying the “my friend” malarkey you are using on Congressman Ryan. Go shove it up your keister.
