C-Span will carry the hearings on Security Failures of Benghazi live at 12pm.
(Excerpt) Read more at c-span.org ...
Thank-you don-o. Printing it out now.
PS: And... to answer a previous question upthread, the officials participating were anonymous.
“I pray this country wakes up in time. This is a disaster!!”
Did you see post 695? Greta got the teleconference transcript.
This has long legs and a long shelf life. Obama Adm is STILL covering up, which means the truth is worse than coming clean. This can easily stay front and center for another month.
They aren’t even saying, “Mistakes were made.”
If only the Repubs and Romney/Ryan use it to their advantage.
It was an act of war against the US.
Obama covered it up.
Obama is still covering it up.
We don’t even have a cause of death for the 4 slain in Benghazi.
Obama doesn’t want the American people to know the truth.
What is the truth?
We citizens have a right to know the truth.
etc, etc, etc.
Thanks for the link. Just scanning it caught this little ditty:
OPERATOR: The next question is from the line of Shaun Waterman, Washington Times. Please go ahead.
MODERATOR: Shaun? Lets go to the next question, and maybe Shaun can go next. Maybe hes not off mute.”
So they purposely disconnected Washington Times reporter too. The whole thing reads like......’ Ok media troops...let’s get our stories straight and this is what you are to report’
Just pathetic! This is impeachment stuff yet you would never know it reading the worthless American media. They made sure too that no media that might dare report the truth could even be there or ask a question.
Pen: Call me naive, but This has legs right up to the election:
Obamas Libya statements become ludicrous [WaPo]
PS: Also, I have been keywording those articles that present an ever-evolving timeline with the keyword "benghazitimeline." These deal, so far, with what official said what when...to be compared with what facts were already known at the time.
I was told Bret Baier presented a withering timeline on his Fox program. I have taped, but not watched yet.
That post is avery detailed account of what happened. Thanks for the link.
It is a must read for anyone who wants to know a detailed time line and description of the events. From what I read it is amazing only three agents and the ambassador were killed.
Keep in mind that this is the State Dept. talking and spinning to select friendly reporters. I would not trust anything they have to say. It will be good to compare and contrast with known facts though.
If you scroll down you will find that they finally reconnect with Shaun and he does get to ask his question.
Thanks...I saw that after I posted.his question was pretty weak IMHO. The so called moderator seemed intent on glossing over and cutting off any relevant questions too.
Issa has a few whistleblowers, so this is far from over and things in this press gaggle are going to come back to haunt the administration.
Hillary and Obama met today to get their lies straight as well.
Greta info bump
Watching this through again and listening to opening statement by Lt. Col. Andrew Wood. This man stepped forward when he did not have to. He is a true hero in this process and obviously loves his country. If he were not there, would Nordstrom been as successful at demonstrating the incompetence of Lamb and her team? I think not.
Agree.
Must read:

Probably deserves a thread of it’s own.
Sw just the en on Brets timeine.
Is it posted anywhere?
THREAD: Bret Baier's Benghazi timeline was a complete damning indictment of Obama Administration
See also post 8 in above thread for link to another timeline
Juat thought I would point out that there is a video of what happened. So the Lamb woman talking about “real time” may very well be the case!
Yes, I heard there IS a video....50 minutes or so. Whether she saw it at that time or not, I don’t know, but you could be right.
I wasn’t trying to be a smarty butt. I really didn’t have any idea what was on that video any more than you did.
So forgive me, I just wanted to mention this woman may have seen what was going on real time.
The security issues are not new, but the snippets below are interesting in light of all we have learned. Worth posting because sex has hijacked the story.
I am not sure how much of the specific request made in April would have related to what happened in Libya, but the mindset of the admin tells it all.
The link to the remarks by Clinton in Tampa is
Remarks by Clinton in Tampa, May 23, 2012 Sure enough, she seems to think Spec Ops need to be comfortable drinking tea with tribal leaders.
The snippets below might appear choppy and unrelated to one another. I pulled the parts I found interesting, as always full context is best. :)

Elite Military Forces Are Denied in Bid for Expansion
June 4, 2012
By Eric Schmitt
WASHINGTON In late April, the militarys Special Operations Command presented the State Department and Congress with an urgent request for new authority to train and equip security forces in places like Yemen and Kenya.
The request was the latest effort by the commands top officer, Adm. William H. McRaven, to make it easier for his elite forces to respond faster to emerging threats and better enable allies to counter the same dangers.
.the proposal seemed to have momentum.
in a rare rebuke ., powerful House and Senate officials as well as the State Department, and ultimately the deputy cabinet-level aides who met at the White House on the issue on May 7, rejected the changes. [Ordered] to use security assistance programs already in place, particularly one created last year by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and the defense secretary at the time, Robert M. Gates, for just these types of issues.

rare window into the sometimes uneasy relationship between the powerful Special Operations Command, whose dynamic boss, Admiral McRaven, is pushing hard to achieve broad changes to his forces, and the more traditional interests of Congress, the State Department and some top military commanders. ..
Admiral McRavens broad goal obtain new authority from the Defense Department to move his elite forces faster and outside normal Pentagon deployment channels. give him more autonomy to position his personnel and their fighting equipment where intelligence and world events indicate they are most needed. It would also allow the Special Operations forces to expand their presence in regions where they have not operated in large numbers for the past decade, especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
not all senior officers welcome Admiral McRavens ambitious proposals, suspecting a power grab that might weaken the authority of regional commanders.
.Adm. Timothy J. Keating I dont fundamentally understand what needs fixing.

the command argued it could provide a fast turnaround resource for dealing with breaking issues. Special Operations officers would work closely with American ambassadors in each country and the State Department to support foreign policy goals.
some details of a plan sketched out for Congress on March 27 by the Pentagons top civilian Special Operations policy official, Michael A. Sheehan. Citing Africa as a prime example .. told the Senate Armed Services Committee, We will need different authorities, we will need different types of programs in order for us to engage with the range of countries, from Libya down through Mali, which is obviously in the middle of chaos right now, to Mauritania, all the way and, quite frankly, all the way over to Nigeria.
lawmakers and State Department officials were puzzled. Only last year, Mr. Gates and Mrs. Clinton, backed by Congress, agreed to pool resources from their two departments in a new fund to respond more quickly to counter emerging threats from Al Qaeda and other militants in places like Yemen and the Horn of Africa.
The program, the Global Security Contingency Fund meant to address many of the needs the commands proposal outlined.
A report .. last month summed up the objections of not only lawmakers in the House and Senate, but also high-ranking administration officials who met on May 7 at the White House to work out the dispute. The committee is concerned that the proliferation of similar, overlapping and/or competing building partner capacity authorities creates unnecessary confusion and friction, the House report said.

In a visit to command headquarters in Tampa, Fla., on May 23, Mrs. Clinton extolled the newly forged ties between diplomats and commandos. We need Special Operations forces who are as comfortable drinking tea with tribal leaders as raiding a terrorist compound, she said. We also need diplomats and development experts who understand modern warfare and are up to the job of being your partners.
