Real?? We received an email from our CEO encouraging us to contact Washington about the fiscal cliff. Shocking as the company has been apolitical since I started. Sign of the times.

If he plans to retire it would make more sense for him to sell the business as a going concern rather than simply shut it down.

David,

Your resort sucks. Its dirty and full of bugs and your employees don’t care. Your employees deserve to be fired and so do you.

Signed, your customer

Can somebody explain this to me?

The US has 310 million people.

While it is true that many liberals work for the government, are entertainers who don’t meet payrolls and have their production companies do all their heavy lifting, there has to be a large group of liberals and Democrats who work in the private sector and understand basic economics.

So who are these private sector liberals who own small, medium and large businesses who embrace being taxed multiple times on their income as a corporation and as individuals, on capital gains, and who have to pay payroll taxes, have to pay sales taxes, and have to pay a multitude of excise taxes and user fees, as well as pay a massive property tax bill twice a year for crappy schools?

Who are these liberals who have to live in the real world every single day but then vote against their interests every election?

I seriously don’t get it.

I tried this in 2008. Told my staff of 3 that there would be only one left in March if the Bamster was elected. They voted for him anyway and all three were gone by April.

So many people voted for Bam in 2008 based upon the emotion of the times, the idea that he represented all their frustration in being held back due to race, gender, etc. When you ask them now, only a few percent will tell you the truth of why they did this and if they regret it. Many are sorry, but they actually blame middle age white guys for “making them do it”.

I am guessing a LOT regret their decision, but will tell no one if they intend to change their vote this time around. They see what a light weight and a disaster the Bamster is, the truth has been revealed. Who wants to admit they were duped.

People will not vote their self interest on this thing, the race will be very close. White guilt and “social justice” are very powerful motivators.

He’s late to the party. I shut down my business and retired in 2009. The future was clear. More work, more risk, less return.

No thanks. I’m small potatoes, only 4 jobs were lost directly. But there are hundreds of thousands like me. We are fine, young people are going to pay extra for their healthcare so mine can cost less.

It is the young are are getting screwed by Obama. Oh wait, there’s also those who thought they were nearing retirement, only to find out they get to keep working with no retirement in sight.

He didn’t threaten anything. He simply told the truth. I’ve started two small businesses and will tell you point blank that I’ve had to let employees go when my taxes went up. I had to do that in 1993 after Clinton raised taxes and I was a small Computer Consulting shop.

I sold off that business when the government made more off the fruits of my labors than I did. I tried again in 1995 as a small ISP with 22 employees and exited that business in 1997 for the same reason: taxed to death.

When sixty cents or more of every dollar you make goes to some form of local, county, state or federal tax, it’s time to quit. Frankly I admire this CEO for going on record with his employees a d spelling it out for them.

There was a ‘tale’ (probably a hint of truth and a hint of BS), but supposedly RFK (in his role as AG) made a tour of plants in the south and his first question was in regards to “How many employees, how many Black etc” and then ‘threaten’ if it was overwhelmingly White.

Asked the question one plant owner said how many Black am I supposed to have working here? 74.

He was given a number, called his secretary and said bring me the Employees list, count down to 75 Blacks and fire all after that.

Turning to RFK “Sir, you should do your homework, I have over 150 Black employees here, but I will have it down to your ruling shortly”

My nephew was just laid off by Motorola (Chicago suburb) after 20 years.

Motorola folded up his division (white collar folks) and shipped the whole thing kit and kaboodle to a new, modern facility in Poland.

His friend, another long timer, was laid off last year...and still hasn't found a job, most likely due to age.

The company LAID OFF 4000 LAST MONTH in addition to the thousands already laid off and more to come.

There's no jobs for these folks unless they hit something lucky almost by accident. Resumes are sent out, but nothing is happening, anywhere.

Thanks, Big Bird Bama!

I have half a hunch he will lose Illinois, a hard-core blue state (almost bankrupt and totally corrupt), in the upcoming election.

Any entrepeneur or no-union worker who votes for Obama is voting against their own well being.

In the long term that goes for union members as well although they will do better than most until they and Obama destroy the economy.

Then they will have to compete with the rest of America, dumpster diving to feed our kids.
