Unable to voice his core beliefs in the debate

This is a problem of Obama's own doing. He is perfectly able to express his core beliefs. Obama knows, however, that that his beliefs are so offensive to voters that he would end his candidacy by expressing them.

I am not so sure I agree with your implication, that his core belief might be political.

Instead, it appears Barack Obama's primary and core belief is that Barack Obama is really amazing.

A close corollary is that Barack Obama believes Barack Obama is entitled to a lot of wonderful things.

That can be extrapolated into leftism/liberalism in general.

They can’t tell people what they intend to do, or else they’d never get the power to do so.
