Mitt Romney's strong debate performance did little to convince more voters he understands them or is a "good person" even though he has narrowed President Barack Obama's overall poll lead, according to a Reuters/Ipsos survey released on Saturday.
Just a month before the November 6 election, the Democratic president is ahead of his Republican challenger on character attributes that can win over undecided voters who have not been swayed on policy points.

The online survey of 1,770 registered voters and 1,492 likely voters was conducted from October 2-6.
The precision of the Reuters/Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points for registered voters and 2.9 for likely voters.

“Mitt Romney’s strong debate performance did little to convince more voters he understands them”
The CEO of the institution I work for probably doesn’t “understand” me in the context that it is being used here. That doesn’t mean in any way that one of my beer buddies is better capable of his job.
As far as “good” goes I’ve seen nothing from Obummer that I haven’t seen from Romney.
As far as capable I’ve seen plenty from Romney that I haven’t seen from Obummer.
End of story.
I don’t dislike the king as a person, fact is I’ve never met him.
But, I hate everything he believes in, everything he’s said, everyone he’s surrounded himself with, and everything he’s done in public life.
I don’t believe it....
All of these polls have lost their credibility. They simply spout numbers with no real backup or reasoning.
I’ll bet most Americans are like me and are just ignoring the polls, Obama is going lose and he is going to lose big.... it won’t be pretty.
nobody likes him.... he’s a dick.
The asinine desire for the President to be a “National Best Friend” has led to plenty of problems for America.
Hmmm. “Margin of error” is now “credibility interval”.
That is the only explanation that truly makes sense. But that is wearing thin since you are racist if you say Chicago or apartment anymore.
His Pakistani husband liked him ... and Reggie Love liked him ... that’s two.
“I wish one person could explain to me what makes Obama likeable”
IMO, its that big toothy $hit eating grin.
I just took a cruise through downtown Ocean Springs MS. It’s a fairly liberal bastion in S. MS and I was pleasantly surprised to see half a dozen Romney-Ryan signs and 0 Zero signs in front yards.
I think most people have seen and heard too much of Obama already. We have to hear and see him every single day, delivering the same lies and blame for everything under the sun. He looks foolish and the waterboys and girls in the media, look and sound like hypnotized Obamiacs. The majority of people are not as ignorant and uninformed as the Democrat Party believes.
Your wish is my command...
His rather large and extruding ears makes him look like a familiar cartoon character everyone loves. That, or the frontal view of a Ford Mustang with the doors opened.

Here’s my theory:
What does the individual respondent think of when they are asked if Obama is likeable?
First, you have a given segment that likes him because he will give them stuff (ie: as many as 47%). To them, he can be as likeable in terms of personality as a hemorrhoid and they will still like him.
Second, today’s average person is a functional moron. They have a public school edumacation that taught them little besides self esteem studies, multiculturalism and tolerance for everyone except working heterosexual white people.
Third, further destroying their ability for rational or critical thinking, the average person has an advanced degree from Oprah University, which taught them that the greatest good in society is celebrity. If you’re a celebrity, you can be a drunken, foul-mouthed, faithless, lying, cheating scumbag and the public will only love you more, because, after all, your despicable conduct made you an even bigger celebrity.
When you apply these standards to “likeability”, you get Obama. Free stuff, multiculti and 98 appearances on The View. What’s not to like?
Yeah and you and I both would like him a lot more if we had never known he existed.
The American people so do want to think this radical is the “real thing”, and they will bend over backwards to make him so.
The Obama campaign has been running a radio ad in Iowa OVER & OVER again featuring a young mother complaining how Mitt doesn't understand her daily struggles to care for an autistic child, pay the bills, etc. etc. I cringe when I hear it. It is the most condescending, blatantly pandering, 'speaking-down-to' ad I have ever heard. I am offended by it, and I can't believe other well-educated, competent young women aren't, as well. It is written as though it is addressing an audience that is mildly mentally retarded.
