WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month, dropping below 8 percent for the first time in nearly four years. The rate fell because more people found work, a trend that could impact the presidential election.

Or on paper, or they pulled the numbers out of their asses. The truth is, if anything, the job numbers went the other way. To Wit: lost.
Curious how Romney will respond to these bogus numbers. Whatever he says will be treated as 'sour grapes' so he should explain how these numbers don't add up and leave suspicion in the minds of voters!
With the Libya coverup and now this bogus unemployment date, it is time that Romney/Ryan bring up the importance of restoring honesty to government.
Coming a month before the reelection vote, this can't be coincidental since the prior drops had come from people giving up their search.
Unfortunately it may be enough to save O with the media machine geared towards helping him. They've run with this like a press release instead of "digging deeper" for analysis.
After Romney's brilliant performance on Wednesday, this is a devastating propaganda piece.
According to the Dept. of Labor 873,000 more people are employed than from the previous month! There is no way almost 1 million jobs were created in just 4 weeks!

This juicing of the numbers verges on the criminal but this also should cause everyone to question the validity of the statistics OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS.
My guess is they were and are just as dismal as the carter years.

Many of these alleged “new jobs” are only part time and/or temporary -
I see Obama has his thugs out calling Mitt Romney a liar on TV now after his lousy debate perfomance in Denver - I guess Obama wil start blaming John Elway of the Denver Broncos and even Johnson of the New York Jets for endorsing Romney.
The real unemployment pecentage (non-farm) is 11% now - including farm workers it is now 17%
They cheated down the unemployed numbers by instantly taking off all those that have given up even looking for work by advertising on TV to double everyone on food stamps and putting many millions more on permanent Social Security Disabled status by loosening up the requirements
- Obama also has already knocked down fulltime hours to 30 hours a week so employers must give them Obamacare and pay huge premiums -
- What will Obama do when small business employers cut all part time workers down to only 25 hours a week?

The BLS probably counted those who sold a certain percentage of goods on eBay/Craigslist as self-employed.
No begging required. First, he has supporters in industry, greased with government funds. Second he has lots of carrots and sticks at the IRS (and other agencies). The carrots are poisoned of course, but people still eat them.

I read a lot of comments on Yahoo- very few are buying it.
Take another look. That '114K' number grew to '873K' in just the past few days.
I think the phrase to be used is “The Potemkin Unemployment Rate” because that rate is as fake as they come, a false front.
