In his wrap-up, Øbama said,
"But I also promised that I'd fight every single day on behalf of the American people, the middle class, and all those who were striving to get into the middle class. I've kept that promise and if you'll vote for me, then I promise I'll fight just as hard in a second term."

He did just fine.
LOL!
That should become a classic.
EXACTLY!!!!
That is the one that really got me going!
"Budgets? What do you know about budgets? You and Pelosi
and Reid and the rest of the democrats have ignored the
constitution and haven't had a budget to in four years!
Even a mom and pop candy store needs a budget to function
properly. But you have tried to run the largest financial
enterprise on earth by the seat of your pants and it has been
a total disaster."
1) He’s the first person I’ve heard/seen in a public forum unabashedly expound the concept of federalism and pushing anything back down to the states where it belongs to this lunatic marxist yet.
Newt and McPain and Palin and all the others made noise about it outside the ring, but Romney is the point guy who landed the first punch.
2) “c”onservatism according to Kirk/Burke is the veneration of preceding generations. So anyone who comes in and tries to turn the Titanic around on a dime is just going to break the ship or get thrown overboard by the geezers. We’re going to have to honor the amoral commitments that our parents and grandparents committed us to, the same way our kids have to honor the horrific debt we’ve already piled on them. If we default up or down then we become the radical progressives.
Well, he didn’t grab the back of Bongo’s neck and slam his face into the podium, but I guess I can forgive that.
When O was accusing Romney of not offering any details of his budget plans Romney should have told him ‘we will have to pass the budget to see what’s in it.’
Obama's answer (I'm paraphrasing) was that the first duty of gov't was to "keep people safe".
Now where in the Constitution does it say that? Is it something to do with "pursuit of happiness"? Maybe "providing for the common defense" or establishing our right to "feel secure in our homes"? None of these duties of gov't seems to fit exactly with Obama's belief in "keeping people safe".
It dawned on me that maybe Obama really doesn't even know what the Constitution says (he grew up in Indonesia, I doubt they teach it in school).
Obama's vision of the role of gov't will always clash with mine (to provide maximum liberty). How can you "keep people safe" without strictly controlling their actions? So we get to the heart of the matter - Obama's idea of the role of gov't is the Nanny State, where he controls everyone's lives (for their own good, of course).
Unfortunately, the people going into the middle class were ex upper class with ZERO's economic policies!
Well, the only relevant missed opportunity would have seemed really out of place if Romney had mentioned it:
The opportunity to point out how “conservative” talk radio hosts and posters on conservative websites are so easily fooled by shallow minded talking points tossed into the ring by the left.
Talking points meant to discourage conservatives.
I am sure Mitt missed a number of opportunities but just how badly can one blast the opposition in the allotted tims with out using a nuke.
Here I solicit ideas that Romney can use in the next two debates -- and I'm the bad guy!
~~~~~~~
Whatever became of those conservative activists, once known as "FReepers"?
Romney was excellent. he left Obama battered and bruised on the floor. I suppose he could have kicked him in the teeth while he was down there but what’s the point.
Indeed I chuckle at hearing Obama’s remarks, just as hard as the last 4 years?? What a swell job Obama has been doing out on the golf course.
Deficit reduction: In 1 response, Obama said that he was going to use the savings from ending the wars to cut deficit, a few answers later, he blamed the deficit on GWB and cited having 2 wars that were unpaid for. If we are borrowing to pay for war, how are we using money for reduction and other programs without just borrowing it for something else?
Here I solicit ideas that Romney can use in the next two debates -- and I'm the bad guy!"
Uh...I don't think anyone believes you're "the bad guy." It's simply a fact that Romney was excellent last night; he wiped the floor with Obama. Most folks are happy with that. Speaking for myself, I tend to agree with Mark Levin that it's not realistic to think Romney's debate team is going to be scouring the internet looking for anonymous suggestions. They seem to have matters well in hand. Besides, there are two more debates left, with plenty of material to cover.
As for this being "what's left of FR", I guess that must include you, as well.
Okay, try this one:
Obama's bound to reuse his criticism of Romney's lack of details in his economic plan ("he said he was going to do such-and-such, but he never says how").
Someone suqqested Romney's reply should be "You have to pass it to find out what's in it". Catchy sound bite, but a more direct attack might be that Obama has no ideas of his own, which is why he criticizes everyone else's...
Romney had as perfect a debate performance as could've been hoped.
For those here who have been going on for months saying that Romney was just another “McCain”, how does crow taste today? That didn’t sound anything like McCain’s debate “performance”.
I guess all of us can come up with stuff today.
I was thinking that while Obama kept talking about hiring more teachers, Romney could have chimed in “you mean like the ones in Chicago that were on strike Obama”? The ones that want tons more money while turning out illiterate kids with no future?” You mean the union teachers that want no accountability for doing a lousy job?”
Hmmn, must be why Odumbo stayed out of that. LOL
What I haven’t heard anyone mention is the 10 year old textbooks mentioned by comrade obamov? Hello, they’re getting billions - so where is the money going? 42 per kids class - how many are illegal?
