And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
Can I come too?
Another fine site in the hopper.
Gosh it would be nice to see you brother.
Woohoo!! We will head out and get one this weekend and maybe shoot for next weekend. I have to go to Miss. for a few weeks end of the month. Looking forward to it!! I will get some of that good 80/20 angus chuck from Central Market and cook my famous fries. Also mylife and/or Buckeye can stay the night if they need or want to. Don’t want anyone driving far after NYtexan’s margaritas.....lol!!
She really has done a great job making that place look like a home, instead of just a weekend place.
Advise him that he better not trade ya in on two twenty year olds...cause yer now trained on handguns!
btw, still have yer pics in my laptop. Are you gonna post 'em? If'n ya would like it done by me, just let me know.
“Texas Firing Line looks pretty cool!
How much would it cost to rent a TAC Bay for the day?”
I don’t know, and I think it’s a membership range, but I can call and find out if y’all want me to.
Actually I thought my chow was pretty good.
Fried Flounder sangwich on a Hoagie roll and Mega Onion rings
LOL
It is a home.
She has sitting spots all over the property.
Well, it would be my pleasure to finally meet you in person.
And if the shoot comes to CenTex next year I plan to be there.
I just hope I can go next year. Maybe work will not be soooo hectic.
Work being hectic is a good thing.
Still, I hope to meet ya.
Oh yeah! THAT Prime Rib was indeed PRIME.
I couldn’t figure it out either ~ their website is wonky. It looks to me to be two cottages and a house/cottage. Each of them can sleep up to eight people. I put a call into them to see if it is handicap accessible ~ just in case the Robinson’s join us next year.
I have previous looked at the website of the first one ~ their range price are pretty high. The second range seems to be members only.
Drool . . .
My Rib eye was “so so” but it was a good dinner.
Great venue, and good friends.
The Beer was awesome and the ranch fries rocked.
I think I will stick to the “fall a part” ribs next time.
Thank you.
Hes so cute. I just had to tussle his hair one time. Think I embarrassed him.
LOL. He's not used to pretty girls paying attention to him yet.
I'll say!
We got left behind a couple of times...lol. Those dang traffic lights.
Are you craving a Schnitzelgrubber? LOL
