And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
Ohh my Po stretched out belly.
The Rahr and Sons Octoberfest beer was excellent.
Mark Larue has a range there and put’s on a public shoot/BBQ yearly for his business.
I will attempt to call him and see if we can organize a private event if yall think it would be a good place.
Couldn’t hurt to ring him up.
I second that motion!
The 2014 shoot can be held in November.
Stan’s looks like decent place
I don’t know what happened too Mark Larues range day this year.
He advertised it and then *poof* it was gone.

Glad to hear you are back home safe, sound and rested.
DrO absolutely loves your beautiful soap! I do too, but he can’t put them down. He’s marveling over each bar and selecting which one to put by each sink and in each tub and shower. Oh my...lol. He’s decided to put the SOAP one next to the kitchen sink. I’m okay with that and it looks great and smells delightful!
Please do give him a call, I think June 8th would be the shoot day.
I already found a cool looking place to stay in Liberty Hill ~ http://www.casariodecolores.com/ ~ their website is a bit busy, but the place looks awesome.
Their range fees are a bit high.
2014?
What happened to 2013's Shoot? LOL.
Thanks very much. I miss everyone and our cottages!
The 2013 shoot will be held in June.
Working with mylife to find a range in central Texas
That looks awesome!
We have been ping ponging so much between the Gulf and the Red River, that it would be nice to hit central Texas again.
I love your neck of the woods, but Central Texas has a lot to offer and it is convenient for a lot of folks.
I like your theme better than the LaRue business thing.
I just figured those guys gotta eat too, and I bet they like a good feed and chin wag.
We have a lot of Texas to consider LOL
Great trip this year.
Thanks for doing what you do.
Thanks very much again! Right after I posted, I back tracked the posts and learned about the June date for the shoot!
And just like that ~snap~ we have the beginning of a plan!
I can see a road trip to Liberty Hill, TX in my near future.
He shot me a text this morning, home safe.
