I’ve never made a motion picture, but I know if a movie is good or bad.
Any kind of advertizing works by emotion. This one is dull, and 99% of people will just tune it out.
U-tube refusing comments on this. Is everyone noticing how many web sites are refusing comments?
“They got the wrong guy to do this ad. Hes way too nice. Should have someone breathing fire. This ad is pathetic.”
R. Lee Ermey comes to mind.
What America needs to see is the “truth,” we only need a 30 second spot. The first 10 second is bozo telling the soviet leaders not to worry, he'll have flexibility after the election. The second is bozo telling us we didn't build it. The last 10 seconds is Romney making a plea to help start fixing this country. This doesn't have to be rocket science.
Thanks, All.
We won’t win with crappy ads like this. The people that are plugged in and paying attention on both sides have already decided who they will vote for so ads like this mean nothing.
If they want to pull wishy washy (I) and (D) people over to our side, they need to create more emotional ads that give weaker minded people something to grab onto. Take the Obama phone lady and put it into a 30 second commercial!
I would have cut off the chart on the debt and added to the chart the unemployment rate had the BLS used the same-sized job pool that we had at the end of the Bush administration (approx. 11 or 12%).
Then there’s only one message: Obama failed on unemployment.
This ad says “yes, he lied but it’s getting gradually better”. My revision says “yes he lied and it’s worse than the lie.”
54321 here come the bedwetters lol
I disagree. They need to show the cost of Obama's policies in human terms. If Obama was a Republican, the media would be running stories every day about poor out of work Americans, people who have been forclosed on, filed bankruptcies, homeless, etc. Notice you never see those stories anymore? Romney and the pacs need to bring those people into voters living rooms, with the overt message, "we can't take four more years of this", and the unspoken message "you could be next". As John in Wisconsin noted above, fear sells.
We need to hear about the future...not the past. It’s almost annoying to hear what Obama did in the past since they have convinced people that it was Bush’s fault and he needs 4 more years. I’ve been waiting for Romney to talk about what an Obama Presidency will mean for the next 4 years!!!! NO ONE GIVES A CRAP ABOUT THE PAST ANYMORE. He’s going to lose if he doesn’t get with the program.
An exponentially better ad, creative, clever, and on-point, also by American Crossroads: CLICK HERE.
Will we ever see this one on TV, or just on the internet?
“Obama promised x amount of jobs delivered Y”
Blah blah blah.....Same ol’ same ol’
To quote a former Messiah “Words? Just Words?”
Romney knows this.
When Romney ran against Kennedy for the Senate, Kennedy bussed in people (from OH, iirc) that lost their jobs, or had their wages and salaries cut in the Bain-engineered merger of two failing companies, Avery and Dennison.
How about an ad showing what happens when the Bush Tax Cuts expire? Millions added to the tax rolls (Those that don’t pay taxes now), a 50% increase in the rate paid by the lowest level of taxpayers (from 10% to 15%), and an average $3500 increase for families.
“Interviews with actual out of work people would be way more effective. Maybe have one say we cant take four more years of this.”
Agree 100%. The Zero ad/lie about the man who blamed Romney for his wife’s death had traction because it tugged at people’s heart strings. SURELY there are some non-union GM people who lost EVERYTHING who could be featured in a TRUE commercial.
It would work on Mrs. JimRed. A fire-breathing, passionate delivery (Rush when he's in that mode, or Mark Levin anytime) causes her to shut down because she "hates being screamed at". In fairness, she did stop watching Chrissy the Sissy and the Olber-moron long ago for the same reason. She just can't separate passion from hate...
Technically, this is Karl Rove’s anti-Obama ad. Not Romney’s.
If it’s playing here in VA, I haven’t seen it yet (I’m in the central part of the state).
for the debate
he needs to say
“how did your first plan work out??”
