WAYNE, Pa. Mitt Romney declared Pennsylvania a battleground during a mid-morning rally here Friday, despite public polls showing him well behind in the race for the states prized 20 electoral votes.
Ive got a little secret here and that is that the Obama campaign thinks that Pennsylvania is in their pocket. They dont need to worry about it, Romney said during a visit to a military academy in the Philadelphia suburbs.
And youre right and theyre wrong. Were going to win Pennsylvania and were going to take the White House.

Excellent idea actually. Bypass the typical "battleground" states and focus instead on the next tier - the "light blue" states. Focusing on those normally blue states will definitely unnerve the Obama campaign and it will have the effect of pulling the typical battleground states into the red as well.
Good battlefield tactics. Why nibble around at the edges when you can get aggressive and go for the whole enchilada. It's like Patton simply going around the Maginot line and flooding enemy territory with tanks and troops instead of trying to bust through it. Once Patton was through, holding the Maginot line became pointless and it quickly evaporated.
Romney needs to act like a winner. Start telling the country what he will do WHEN he is elected, not IF. Make the case that his election is a fait accompli.
No, not nationally I don’t. Individual states will very, but I still feel the national vote Obama has a max in the low 40s.
Thanks, I am a student of military history. I study the maps. I think strategically. I like playing on offense.
With an economy as pathetic as this, high unemployment, $16 TRILLION national debt, high gas prices, household income down 4k from four years ago, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHY WE ARE NOW ON DEFENSE RIGHT NOW.
Well look Obama won it by 10, one of his smaller margins, in the top ten closest Obama states he hardly gained versus 2004 there compared to some other states. And it was only a meager 2.5% win for Kerry, so sure it’s competitive, it’s never not been and it’s never been a “dem stronghold” it’s a swing state but rat leaning thanks to Philly. If Romney wins 53 nationally he’s probably taking PA. If he’s at 51% or less, probably not.
There’s little chance Romney would need it for 270 but if he gets it then the game is iced.
havnt heard much about supremes but have been thinking about them all along.
“... you hardly ever see an Obama yard sign or bumper sticker.”
Yep! I cut across from Lancaster through Chester County to work everyday through the outer ring suburban horsey land of the Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes. Last time there were signs a plenty. This time there is ONE Obama sign on my entire route.
PA Ping!
If you want on/off the PA Ping List, please freepmail me. Thanks!
Same thing in my area...not far from the I-95 corridor.
Every District in the County except for the City schools is closed.
"Bitter clingers"!
I’m seeing many “Stop the war on Coal - Fire Obama!” signs around here. In fact, I stopped in at our Repub headquarters and they are out of that sign and people are requesting them. They haven’t gotten in the Romney/Ryan signs yet, which I guess explains why I haven’t seen any - but I’ve only seen two Obama signs. And we’re a college town of over 15,000!
Oh yeah! First day of hunting season, the schools are always closed! I never heard of businesses closing, at least not around here - and we have the highest deer population in the state - so I been told anyway!
