Twitchy headline says it all.
Context provided by Erick Erickson at Red State:
In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly today the President of the United States declared that the future does not belong to practicing Christians. Already, the media and the left are in full denial, probably based on their general lack of understanding of theology. This would have been a gaffe had Mitt Romney said it. But with Barack Obama, hes just speaking bold truths. His bold truth declares that the future does not belong to practicing Christians.
Pay careful attention to what he says:
"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit. Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support."
Now, thats the full paragraph so no one can claim I took him out of context.
But consider this.
It is an orthodox Christian belief that Mohammed is not a prophet. Actual Christians, as opposed to many of the supposed Christians put up by the mainstream media, believe that Christ is the only way to salvation. Believing that is slandering Mohammed. Thats just a fact. If you dont believe me, you go into the MIddle East and proclaim Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and see what happens to your life.
SNIP
THERE IS NO GOD CALLED "ALLAH," AND MOHAMMED IS HIS FALSE PROPHET. PISS BE UPON THEM.
> Interestingly, that statement may not be the most egregious statement in his speech.

> Let us remember that Muslims have suffered the most at the hands of extremism.
Muslims have committed the biggest holocaust in world history:
Excerpts:
The biggest holocaust in world history
With the invasion of India by Mahmud Ghazni about 1000
A.D., began the Muslim invasions into the Indian
subcontinent and they lasted for several centuries....
By all known accounts of world history, as pointed out by
Koenard Elst in his book the Negationism in India,
destruction of about 100 million Hindus is perhaps the
biggest holocaust in the whole world history....

The word Islam does not mean peace. It means submission. Much like the Russian word Mir which a space toilet was named for which also does not mean peace. It means an absence of opposition.

Barack Hussein Obama may be the most dangerous man ever to hold office in America. In fact, I’m sure he is. Obama’s War on Religion, his attacks on religious liberty (e.g., the HHS mandate)—outrageous! I shudder to think what could happen if he is re-elected. May it never be!
So the future does NOT belong to those of us who are Christians? Wow,,I hope Romney/Ryan question this
Exactly what does Obama mean by “slander”?
Look, I DO NOT BELIEVE that Muhammad is God’s prophet and neither do I believe that the Allah they worship reflects the true God.
DOES THAT COUNT AS SLANDER?
If so, then most of America are slandering the “prophet” of Islam even as I write this.
Scrooge the Moon god and his murderous false prophet Mad Mo. Should have never made it out of the 6th Century.
Did no one bother to look up the text of the speech? He also said:
The future must not belong to those who target Coptic Christians in Egypt it must be claimed by those in Tahrir Square who chanted Muslims, Christians, we are one. The future must not belong to those who bully women it must be shaped by girls who go to school, and those who stand for a world where our daughters can live their dreams just like our sons.
This article was written to incite anger. It worked.
Just call him “The False Prophet Muhammad”.......This should send the Muslim world into conniption fits.
In other words, true democracy real freedom is hard work. Those in power have to resist the temptation to crack down on dissent. In hard economic times, countries may be tempted to rally the people around perceived enemies, at home and abroad, rather than focusing on the painstaking work of reform.
In a true democracy, those in power cannot legitimately crack down on dissent. They don't have the power to do so. It is not a matter of resisting temptation.
Moreover, as President of our country, and Commander-in-Chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so.
It always boils down to how this affects Obama. The "I" word. He is really not defending the right of free speech in the case of this video. The Administration tried to get Goggle to put it off YouTube. The Chairman of the JCS called a private citizen in GA asking him not to support the video. The alleged filmaker "voluntarily" reported into federal officials from the DOJ to determine if he had committed probation violations. And Obama has been far more vocal and angry about the content of the video than about the right of the person to make it.
I know that not all countries in this body share this understanding of the protection of free speech. Yet in 2012, at a time when anyone with a cell phone can spread offensive views around the world with the click of a button, the notion that we can control the flow of information is obsolete. The question, then, is how we respond. And on this we must agree: there is no speech that justifies mindless violence.
It sounds like Obama is rueful about the fact that we can't control these offensive comments because technology has made such control impossible.
The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support.
So as long as we condemn all "slander" against religion, it is OK. We just have to be consistent. But who decides what is slanderous and worthy of condemnation? How does it fit into free speech and tolerance? Obama is again giving credence and legitimacy to supposed insults against the Prohphet. He is preaching the worse kind of censorship: self-censorship. It is the reason why only a few US papers ever reprinted any of the Danish cartoons despite the fact that Danish embassies were being attacked around the globe. Americans could not judge for themselves why they were offensive. And the MSM withheld information to protect themselves from being physically attacked.
Obama employed his usual tactic of trying to be on both sides of an issue. His "fair jpob of defending free speech" was more than counterbalanced by validating those who were supposedly offended. He doth protest too much. And we all know that the video was not the reason that Ambassador Stevens was killed and our consulate attacked.
“Its either us or them.”
That’s it.
That’s the nature of the struggle of the West vs. islam.
If Hussein is re-elected, watch for him to “come out” as a muslim during his second term.
As a followup to his U.N. speech, watch for the administration to do whatever is within its power to criminalize “blasphemy” against muhammed and his gutter “religion”.
I expect that the Republicans will retain control of the House, so actual legislation to this effect won’t be passed. But look for the Obammunists to attempt “rule by diktat” in this regard, with executive and administrative orders, regulations, etc.
If Obama is re-elected — which (as a cold-hearted realist) I see as more than even-money at this point — watch for as much of a putsch towards “islamization’ in this country as they can get away with.
Looks like it’s a hard rain’s a gonna fall.

Note to self - slander the prophet of Islam on a daily basis.
“We have a choice: submit or launch a new Crusade that will not cease until Allah is worshiped only in hell.”
You’re absolutely right, of course.
But the fact is that in both the United States and (moreso) in Western Europe, there is not yet the realization that this is indeed the “core of the struggle”. And before much longer, The West may lose the ability to fight back. There simply won’t be enough capable white Christian males to muster into a fighting force large enough to subdue the muhammedan monster.
This may (or may not) be proved true first in nations like France and Holland, where the muslim birth rate is high and the white birth rate is low (and declining). When these countries finally wake up to the reality they face, they may be unable to resist because they don’t have the numbers with which to do so.
Time is running out for The West. It will happen in Western Europe first, but by the time it happens there, the hour will be growing late HERE, as well.
Will we wake up in time?
Right 0...the future clearly belongs to those that defame Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Mormons, Hindus, etc. Usually with government subsidies to boot.
He was raised a Moslem.
I’m actually surprised that EE would make such a blatantly false statement.
“In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly today the President of the United States declared that the future does not belong to practicing Christians.”
Obama said no such thing. He didn’t even imply it.
