Sigh.
We could have had this man as our candidate. Even if he lost we could be proud. Instead we’re stuck with a guy who even if he wins might not be all that much better than the guy who’s there now.
Depressing.
Hank
Gingrich has a poster up on Twitter of the American Flag versus Obama’s flag and asks the people on Twitter to caption the poster. Newt gave the caption “YOU CHOOSE” and others are coming up with their own. Newt is retweeting what he likes. Here is the link:

Hmm, didn’t know Newt was appearing on Fox again. Was able to rewind the DVR and watching him on Greta now. Thanks.
You haven't been paying attention.
Glad to see Newt back on Fox. It is hard to go to CNN to see his interviews. He has been really active on Twitter.
with a smile. Sure do miss him. Thank you for sharing this.
Cheer up, my friend Hank!
Romney on his worst day would be light years ahead of Obama. Listen to the unknowing recording of Romnay talking about what the debt might do to the country vs. Obama saying no problem near term and not even knowing how much the debt is!
Polarizing and unelectable he might be, I’m sorry he isn’t the nominee.
mark for later
“We could have had this man as our candidate.”
Watching him in that clip, so articulate, so informed, slicing through Obama with such ease and effectiveness... boy did we blow it. (though I did vote for him)
And another thing, think what he would be doing with the lame stream media right now - he would be reading them the riot act. How much fun would it be seeing him getting in the faces of all those pompous biased asses!
Spot on. Oh what could have been. I sincerely hope he has a prominent role in the next adminstration, in ANY capacity.
I believed the same way, until I read his Mother Jones comment about our debt and the Fed. He clearly views - correctly I believe - the U.S. as bankrupt. I can’t think of a single candidate in my lifetime who has been so clear in articulating what is wrong with our decades-long drift into debt-servitude. It’s a national security issue and I think Romney gets that.
I didn’t say he wouldn’t be better. I said he “might not be all that much better.” Which I firmly believe. I’m going to vote the the empty-suit RINO dirtbag. I have lots of clothespins.
Given Myth’s leftism, though, I probably wouldn’t care at all but for judicial appointments.
And I’ve recently taken a look at the judicial recommendations he made in Massachussetts. Have you?
I need a drink.
Hank
Thanks for the attempt to pick me up. I’m serious...it helps. And I do hear snippets from him from time to time that makes me think there’s some understanding there. There was a bit - on the famous tape I think - where he was talking about how soon there will be a treasury auction an no one will buy our bonds but the fed. It was good.
It’s just that I don’t think he has a scintilla of philosophical grounding. I doubt he’s ever in his life read things like DeTocqueville, Burke, the Federalist Papers, or much of anything about the philosophical underpinnings of our country. I don’t think he’s much of a student of history either, or even understands the theortetical underpinnings of laissez-faire capitlism, much as he’s painted as a social darwinist. I’d be willing to be he’s never read Wealth of Nations, much less any Austrian or Chicago School stuff.
He’s a technocrat, and a pretty mundane one. Which is better than what we’ve got. But with his lack of philosophical grounding, he’ll be dangerously susceptible to terrible compromises as President.
