Source: Slain ambassador Stevens said he was on al Qaeda list

(CNN) -- In the months leading up to his death, Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, worried about constant security threats in Benghazi and mentioned that his name was on an al Qaeda hit list, a source familiar with his thinking told CNN.

Complete negligence got our ambassador killed. The guy feared for his life, he had no security that we know of, Libyan officials warned us of a plan and it was 9/11. Hillary Clinton needs to be on the hot seat along with her “boss”.

Why was Stephens in Benghazi on 9-11? Why not in the fortified embassy in Tripoli?

Who sent him to Benghazi on 9-11, when he had death threats against him?

I would have resigned if I thought my safety was in jeopardy, especially in that part of the world. I wonder if, when he got appointed to be ambassador, he thought this was going to be a plumb assignment? I don’t know if I would have taken the gig in the first place.

It is prudent to assume that ALL US embassy personnel in the ME are on SOMEBODY’s hit list & therefore (just to be clear) they are ALL in extreme danger.

According to articles I've read, the attack occurred around 10 p.m. Since when do protests take place after dark? Attacks, yes...protests, NO!! I am so sick and tired of the term "protest" being used when it was obviously a pre-planned attack, conducted at night to take advantage of the dark to have the element of surprise, and to protect those committing the crime.

There was another thread where folks were trying to come up with an image of the bloody handprint & the “Obama” flag .... people were seeing a visual connection. This image was more what I was thinking than the images posted on that thread (last time I visited) and I think it is just ‘perfect’ in a lot of ways. Obama’s vision of America & his policies led to blood being spilled ... and he has done nothing about it .... doesn’t even act bothered about it .... trips to Laa Vegas, Letterman, Beyonce/JayZ party, etc. As Allen West said last night, he should be in the ‘situation room’ taking care of business.
